how safe is ideal?

how safe is ideal actually? what are the chances that some1 succesfully chargesback? is it even possible to chargeback once someone sent money to your ideal account?

iDEAL is really safe as long as you know its the owner of the account sending you the money. A chargeback is always possible, but not as likely compared to a PayPal or typical credit card transaction.
Also, iDEAL is made for all european countries if your bank supports it.

Not much you can do against chargebacks, that's why it's just better to trade with trusted users. Perhaps have them send you GOVT issued ID, that's what a lot of RWT'ers do, maybe that will have an effect.

Get a phone number from the sender, and be sure to record and call them about what they purchased. If the transaction is large ask for a passport/government issued ID.

It's most likely impossible to check if they are ordering from a VPN/proxy but with that information above ^ you should have enough proof to win the chargeback.

You may use a VOIP phone to call them, but if you are sketched out about calling them in the first place you shouldn't be selling to them.

People may not be willing to give up their ID, but it's always worth a try. Request it at your own discretion.

 

In my experience in working for a livechat for 1+ year now and we have never had a chargeback via iDeal.
Only had 1 custom payment (money send to iBAN to avoid processing fees) where a guy requested a chargeback. This will take a lot like A LOT of effort for the customer. You can avoid this by telling them to add a certain comment in sending the transaction, something like: Payment for x Amount of 07 or Rs3 Gp.

I'd say, iDeal 99% safe
