Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

To be honest I'm making more of an argument than you've even thought you've made by continuously posting the same subject matter in all of your posts "Killing innocents" this and "killing innocents" that. You aren't in the military nor have you been anywhere near a combat zone. You haven't been to Iraq, nor have you been to anywhere in the middle east. You have no clue what it's actually like over there and what actually goes on.

I'm guessing you got this information that innocents are killed from some news tabloid that you just happened to see, and you immediately agreed with it because "That's not right." Little do you know...That's not what's actually going on.

You haven't even put up an argument. You just continue to say "People in the military kill innocents." Ok I challenge you. Get your "Resources" and ask them how many innocents they've seen get killed. Or wait, are you going to link me to some Wikipedia page about some battle that happened during Iraq. Battles of which you took no place in, nor do you have even a single bit of knowledge of what happened during. Truth is, none of anything you're saying is 100% accurate because you haven't experienced any of the shit you're spewing first hand. It's people like you, who disrespect the military and wonder why all of these rumors get continuously spread and passed down from generation to generation.

It pains me to see people as ignorant as you who live in this world. I'm not saying you need to give the people who serve the country your gratitude, but don't disrespect them by saying ignorant and rude comments like that. Also no I didn't insult you, I related you to something that clearly seems to still be a problem if we have people like you.

I have been in combat, I have been shot at by people who I can't shoot back at. I have raided villages, where the men use their wives and children as hostages, or strap bombs to their kids and force them to ask us for water so they can set the bomb off. I have had to carry children who weren't old enough to walk, that were left in the street abandoned by their parents. I was alongside the corpsman trying to save the kids life who got hit by a random IED in the middle of a city. You have not.

    Semper Fidelis.

    Holy fuck, thank you rofl.

How would those benefits be useless if it's obtainable? You're equating a waiting period to inaccessibility.

    What judgment and assumptions?

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

Yeah lol, who cares about the lives of innocent people? It's all just this and that, who cares?

Okay then, prove it. Post sources.

My argument is that we shouldn't praise soldiers for their murder of innocent people under the cover of "protecting our freedom", especially when we aren't free.

So you are saying I have to be the one to shoot and kill these people in order to know that these people are shot and killed? I'm pretty sure dead bodies count as sufficient evidence for death counts, I don't have to be in battle killing them to know that they were killed. But even though you are so cold to say that I can't blame the killers for the dead because I wasn't there, WE HAVE VIDEO OF MASSACRES TAKING PLACE.

That's why I use evidence instead of just spitting bullshit. I PROVE my point, I don't just say "Man, you aren't a soldier, so you can't say soldiers are bad for killing innocent people!"

You are the one denying that the military kills innocent people. It's an outright lie, and an insult to the innocents people who were either raped, mutilated, or killed by soldiers.

You didn't insult me? You just called me ignorant in the same paragraph. Before, you called me a hipster teen with a twisted mental incapability. There's a reason you want to insult me, and that's because I won't let you get away with murder.

    This isn't an argument.

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

Lol get away with Murder...? Pretty sure I wasn't put on trial, in trouble or anything like that.

Pretty sure they shot at me first, and that's called justifiable homicide not murder. You should really learn the difference between those two.

So get this. A warzone, which is what almost the entire middle east was claimed as after the initial invasion. An active warzone, look it up, ask someone they'll tell you the same thing.

In warzones, shit happens. It's just the way it is. You're looking at it completely one-sidedly because the USA is lucky enough to have not been claimed as a warzone (invaded, under attack etc. etc.). You don't think about that. All you consider is what has happened in other countries because that's all you have too base it off of.

Do you really think....Whichever country is brave enough to invade us, will give a single fuck, about the innocents? No. And that is how every "non-combatant" is. Truth is, if you're in an active warzone you're a combatant. Now I'm not saying that gives us a right to kill them, because we are one of the few countries that still fall under a certain sector under the Geneva convention, because of people like you. FYI the Geneva convention was originally supposed to only be about hostages and how we can treat them. But people are so butthurt about how we attempt to handle things out their it has taken more lives than actually saved. But if you're in a warzone, shit happens. Get over it.

You have not once mentioned about us. So 9/11 was ok? Regardless of who you think did it, because I'm pretty sure you're probably some anti-government/anti-military person who probably thinks it was inside job. The attacks on France were ok? The attack in San Bernadino, California was ok?

They don't care about us. The innocents or the terrorists.

So once again, get over it. Your ignorant thinking is what isn't allowing us to move on from the terrible things that have happened over the past 15 years in the middle east. Not because people wont just turn a blind eye, but because people keep bringing up incidents that happened decade(s) ago.

Just...Get the fuck over it lol? I don't know how to make this less frustrating for myself since you're seeing things with like no peripheral vision. Have your opinions but your blatant disregard for what we actually do is just downright disrespectful. You don't keep beating a dead horse and think it will get up and ride again. The incidents that have happened during the course of this war were spread out by YEARS, and not only that they weren't insane casualty rates, and even a few were justified based off later found evidence....Just get over it man. Shit happens.

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

Holy fucking shit. You invaded and they shot at you. Surprise. You surely can't use YOUR OWN INVASION to justify YOUR OWN VIOLENCE.

So, because you invaded their homeland, everyone there is automatically a combatant, just because they happened to be where you invaded at the time.

I agree. You don't have the right. That's my fucking point.

Dead people and gangraped children don't get over it you heartless piece of shit.

    http://www.sythe.org/something-all/1922982-trump-s-proposal-temp-muslim-ban.html

Ad hominem. Once again, resulting to insulting me since you can't address dead bodies.

So why are these Islamic attacks still happening if soldiers are protecting us and keeping us free? You aren't making a point.

I guess you two have that in common.

RIGHT?? WHY WON'T PEOPLE GET THE FUCK OVER THEIR MURDERED CHILDREN, IT'S BEEN YEARS, COME ON!!!

You deserve to be disrespected because it's not OPINIONS, it's PROOF:

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

I never said that in any way, I asked if he can give me some examples of people that he knows in person who were drafted and are still alive to give their opinion of the main question in this thread, but this thread is not in SFA anymore so it doesn't really matter now.

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

Why does it matter if one of us respects or disrespects a soldier. They're getting fucked up the ass by the VA and the government when they come home. Wars cause a lot of unpleasant side effects for the survivors, such as lost limbs, depression and suicidal thoughts, and PTSD. Me telling a soldier I think he did something for me (I don't) is nothing when compared to the people he actually did go to war for completely letting him down when he comes home. That, in my opinion, is the ultimate sign of disrespect and a national travesty.

The freedom you have now which you have decided to utilize by sitting on a computer all day criticizing soldiers and their apparent "lack" of contribution to society. Don't worry, they don't care for your appreciation, people like you are to ignorant/stupid to understand when respect is due. Don't worry if trouble ever finds you, you'll be ready to fight back with your keyboard. Xiero the keyboard warrior.

Not every servicemember boasts about how much pride they have because they serve the country, they are mostly doing it for the benefits and job security. if someone were to salute you as a token of appreciation simply accept it and move on, if someone judges and mocks you for your service then simply ignore and get on with your life. True that some of the things we do does support a little bit of safety back at home but that is nothing to brag about.

Are you ignoring that the government the military kills for is actively importing MILLIONS of foreign enemies into our homelands and forcing me to pay for them with taxes? Why hasn't the military protected me against them? Soldiers are literally fighting FOR the government who is harming me, and charging each American over $2000 every single year to pay for it.

I pay over $2,000 per year for the military, as do 320 million other people. How is that free? The US military costs more than the next 10 combined.

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

We invaded because they attacked us?....

You just see things way too one sidedly. All you care about is the negative things that have happened and not once see things for what they truly are.

America hasn't had the "luxury" of being invaded in quite some time.

People who think like this are the same exact reason cops have a bad name. Cause an uproar and riot when you see something on the TV about a cop killing someone who's "innocent". Then someones breaking into your house and who do you call? The cops.

You're being ignorant. You act like all we've done is kill women and children and destroy peoples land.

Tell me, everyone out there is innocent in your eyes? The men out there who arm their wives and children with bombs and tell them to run into the middle of a village and set off the bomb killing hundreds of people are innocent? The men who go on stabbing rampages in the name of their religion are innocent? The men who take over entire towns, rape, pillage and kill everything in their path are innocent?

How about this. You go too Iraq/Syria. Tell them sorry for us, and see if they give a single flying fuck lmao. See for yourself what's really going on. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows when we weren't in the middle east, and it's not going to be even if we stay. You realize the US has been benign for quite some time now in Iraq right? And look what's going on. The same things that were occurring before we invaded are still happening. The majority of the middle east has been at war far before the US was even established. They've been killing each other for an astonishing amount of time now. The "damage" we have supposedly done to that country is by far, insurmountable to the damage they have done to themselves.

You don't like the US military that much to the point of being downright disrespectful too the country and what it's done? Move to Japan.

You don't like the fact that we have the luxury of never being invaded because of our militant strength? Move to Japan.

You don't like the fact that you have to pay men and women who make probably two to three times less than you? Move to Japan.

I find it hilarious though, that you linked me to the "Trump Temp Muslim Ban", when I mentioned 9/11. Which is the cause for all of this (by the by). How does that have any relevance? He's not our POTUS, nor will he be. You really think he's running to win? LMAO it's a fucking publicity stunt because he realized how irrelevant he was, and he was losing money. No one in their right mind will actually vote for him. You really think our country will allow someone who is openly racist, ignorant, and self centered run this country? You must have gotten a small loan of a million dollars too.

But hey, you've fought in a war right? You must know everything that goes on it. People like you disgust me. Everything you think is hearsay. Sure, there were a few incidents over the past 10/15 years where innocents were killed. It's war. People will die in war, innocents and combatants. Does it make it justified? Morally, no. Logically, yes. Moral of this entire argument? You have some serious issues with this and I think you should seriously talk to a few vets, because clearly you have some idea that you're keen with sticking with regardless of someone who has been out their for over 2 years in total time, (when you probably can't even find Iraq on a map) and you're telling them "No that's not what happened, I'm right, you're wrong."

Edit - Oh yeah, want your money back? Do your fucking taxes. You don't spend solely 2k to just the military each year. You realize if you did that means you have a surmountable income. You do know how taxes work correct? You probably spend 2,000 a year in total, not just the military.

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

Yeah lol fuck innocent people, go cops!

They are innocent until proven guilty. You've already told me that everyone in your eyes is guilty since they happen to be where you invaded.

Quote me exactly where I said people who killed for Islam were innocent. They are absolutely guilty.

I don't owe them an apology, why don't you apologize instead? I'm sure they wouldn't give a flying fuck if I apologized for YOUR crimes.

...Which proves soldiers have accomplished nothing worthwhile with their deaths and trillions.

That makes absolutely no sense. The Japanese military beheaded millions of Chinese civilians with katanas. How would moving to Japan stop US military violence anyway?

You asked if 9/11 was okay, I respond clearly not and link a thread where I have multiple pages of posts against Islamic attacks, which you clearly didn't read since you say "How does that have any relevance?".

Not an argument. This is just a string of made up insults with no proof.

Not an argument, just more insults.

Not an argument. If I'm wrong, post evidence that shows the United States military is successful in keeping me "safe" with its trillions of dollars that it took by force from the people it is supposed to be protecting. Or just keep insulting me until you feel better about all the money and lives the military has laid waste to.

$700 billion (military spending) divided by 320 million (US population). It's over $2,000.

    LEARN MATH DIPSHIT.

Why are soldiers treated with so much respect?

And you just completely lost your entire argument rofl.

Ok so now that you agree that the terrorists in the middle east are GUILTY, like you just said, you have just proven that what I've done out there was considered justifiable homocide. Loved that contradiction.

Prove to me, on your taxes where it states you solely pay $2000 every year in taxes to the US military. Show me a W2 please. Your taxes go to cops, city work, healthcare etc. Don't be ignorant please. The entire US military isn't paid simply by every individual american. Seeing as the majority of the United States, wouldn't be able to survive if this sort of tax existed.

Japan is not allowed to have an organized military. That is how it is an argument. Holy fuck I'm arguing with a media Nazi who knows nothing about the history of other countries that have been involved with the US.

But once again. You've been in a war right? No you haven't Lol. You're one of those people who self diagnose themselves then go to the doctor and tell them what they have. But it's cool, I know what I did out there was right. I know I'm proud of what I was able to do for my country. I know I did not break my morals out there.

    But hey, Semper Fi bitch.
