European Nightclubs - music?

Hey guys, I've posted a similar thread in the music thread, but also thought I might post here, hopefully to attract more Europeans/people who have travelled there.

Ok so me and a few friends are heading to Europe this July (specifically Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain), and I was wondering what sort of music they played in the nightclubs? Obviously I understand it'll vary on what nightclub we go to etc. so perhaps I'll condense my search: do they play any Trap/Grime/Bass and even Dubstep in European clubs?

It completely depends on where you go. For example in Prague there is an oldies bar/club called james dean, and rocker bar club called Harlees, then a VERY corny 5 story night club that has cheesy americanized music, and some places playing american music, and also techno places too, then places like crossclub with coke everywhere, and this music that is like dubstep but 100x more strange with cocaine everywhere. It all depends on where you go. also by the river in the summer there are DJs too and thats a blast even when I went in May.

Berlin is like the techno capital of the world, and I you could probably find information online about specific DJs at certain clubs, but as far as the music goes it is more of a constant beat the whole song that people dance to on ecstasy until the club closes at noon the next day, or some even open all 72 hours straight (Like Berghain which is a bitch to try to get into with turning away like 70% of people, and 100% of people not in all black.)

Big thing you will be surprised about is how much American music from like 2005-2013 is played. They are a few years behind, but it is crazy to be in a club in Vienna and sing along to Where is the love by the Black eyed peas with like 80% of everyone knowing the words.

Also there are A LOT of cheesy amercanized nightclubs, they are still fun like Opium in Barcelona because TONS of PEOPLE and, but wow it was really cheesy. Also sometimes the most promoted club is the worst, like the 5 story club in Prague, then you have some awesome underground bars things that are super unique.

From what I remember I don't think I heard any dubstep the entire time I went out for the first half of my trip during the solo part for like 45-50/60 days.

Not great news about the cheesy stuff, really not keen for any of that. I have heard about that place in Berlin, am definitely going to try my best to get in!
Really not looking at going to the most promoted, most mainstream clubs. Definitely looking at more underground stuff!

You talk about places with coke..... Where lol. Can you give me some places?

As far as dress code goes in Europe I was really anxious because I didn't know what to pack, and from what I've read tennis shoes and jeans aren't normal over there... and also to wear dress shirts. This is totally wrong! I started with way too many cloths and then it turned out to not matter at all, and you will be good at 99% of places with a black t-shirt, dark jeans, and converse or black tennis shoes. I was only turned away a couple place, one being berghain because I wasn't in all black haha, and who knows what else. Just don't talk in the cue and have no emotion haha. After I got turned away, along with like 70% of everyone else, I faked cried for like 300m the entire length of the cue just for fun haha. This was the coolest part about being halfway around the world and you will never seen any of these people ever again.

I just remember a lot at cross club in prague, but as far as other places I occasionally saw it used in bathrooms and whatnot. I personally didn't use coke, but if you are trying to get some don't buy it from random people on the street. I counted one night in Berlin 30+ people offering to sell coke, among other things, and 95% were the sketchiest people ever.

If you are in spain during running with the bulls... THEN GO THIS WAS AWESOME AND SO CRAZY I only was there 1 night, then ran the next day, but wish i partied there for a few days... it was wild.

 

I honestly hadn't thought bout the dress code but cool that makes me feel a lot better coz I don't really want to go out in dress shoes and a dress shirt lolllll

Ok so how did you find any MDMA/ecstasy pills?

I was actually planning to go to the running of the bulls but most, if not all of the hostels are already all booked out and the ones left are at like x8 their normal prices so I don't think I'm going to be able to afford it

 

You can find them in some clubs especially if it the "rave" scene, and once again don't buy them from sketchy people on the street.

I couldn't book it either, and ended up in San Sebastian(like 1 hour north) and didn't have a hostel booked. I ended up finding a luggage storage there and slept in a park in pamplona. That was one of the most fun experiences ever. Also I ran with the bulls and i was ok, but my brother almost was gored haha. Have fun!
