Seriously looking at just grabbing one of these Istick 100W for 60$ Canadian seems like a steal.

 

Very nice. Check out the Reuleaux RX200w. You can find it as cheap as $50-60. Holds 3x 18650 batteries, true 200w power, upgrade-able firmware, temp control with various types of wire.

Not trying to dissuade you just giving another cool option

 

Do you think I'd really need the 200W? In Canadian it's about 20-30$ more than the IStick 100W and I'm not sure that I would need that much wattage. With that in mind, most of the features it offers I'm not all that interested in (temp control, etc)

 

I had a Snow Wolf 200W and regularly used it under 100 Watts so in retrospect I could have gone with an IStick 100W, but knowing I could go up to 200W was nice and if I wanted to I wouldn't have to purchase an additional mod.

If you have the additional $20-$30 to throw around I'd definitely recommend the 200W just so you're "future proofing" yourself in a sense.

 

Yeah I suppose, but I kind of wonder where the "future proofing" needs to stop. I thought the 30W required for the Atlantis was nuts, and I've been really happy with my Atlantis.

I ended up buying the Istick 100w. For 50$, why not. Is Atlantis still one of the better tanks? Looking for best flavor.

 

If you like the Atlantis, you definitely need to pick up a tfv4.

 

^^ I second this. Over Atlantis's I've heard people really going for Herakles, Supertanks as upgrades, and Kanger Subtanks are about equal.

Does anyone think one day vaping will come back and haunt people, as per cigs from 60 plus years ago.

My point is that back then they were considered risk free until the science caught up with them.

I doubt it, and I'll explain why. But at very least they're a healthier alternative to smoking. To be clear, I'll never recommend a non-smoker start vaping, rather that smokers use it as an alternative or cessation tool.

First of all, cigarettes have thousands of chemicals and carcinogens. You're inhaling burning plant matter (tar).

E-liquid doesn't have any carcinogens, and far fewer chemicals.

PG: FDA approved food additive and used in inhalers

VG: FDA approved food sweetener, also used in lotions.

Nicotine: An addictive and mild stimulant. The effects are similar to caffeine, albeit addictive. This is what makes vaping effective, people still get their nicotine without the other stuff. The positive thing is that there are juices with different levels, including 0. People can slowly lower the amount they take until 0. I started with 24 mg/ml, and now I'm down to 3-6 mg/ml on average with days I use 0.

Flavorings: Some liquids use flavor extracted from foods like fruit. These flavorings are totally safe to eat, but we're not sure about inhalation. Possibly the most questionable part, but flavoring is of course totally optional. I do know people that vape pure VG and nic.

When people make the switch they start to feel better, breathe easier, cough less, etc. Its pretty clear from my experience and others that its doing a lot of good.

There are other benefits too. Its cheaper, better for the environment, doesn't smell bad, second hand exposure is MUCH less harmful.

 

Is the TFV4 worth it? Also any recommendations on some cheap quality juice providers? Vape Joose still one of the leaders in affordable liquid?

 

Definitely. VapeJoose is garbage, not sure how N4N0 liked it.

I use Mount Baker Vapor for affordable juices, but I've also heard some other names thrown around. Just do a little research and don't throw down $12/15ml

 

Ended up grabbing one of those too. Hope you're all leading me in the right direction.

Now to just find another couple decent juices.

 

I get what your saying and I completely agree that the bonuses for smokers are good. I have never smoked so me saying if I were to quit I'd go cold turkey means very little as I cannot back it up, or even understand the craving.

However just glancing around the first page of google shows that there is a very poor understanding of the chemical make up of e-liquids.

This in tandem with the fact that there are 8000 odd chemical in cigs, many of which, the effects on the body are none to well know shows me that there is potential for there to be a disaster 10 years down the line.

I know for sure that I wouldn't fancy this in my system.

 

Honestly, I highly recommend making your own.

Pick up a gallon of VG and a quart of PG from Amazon. Get some nicotine solution from wizard labs, or elsewhere if you can find it cheaper, and favoring. I get my flavoring from steamjuice.us - they sell juice or just concentrates. If you try them out, use the discount code n4n0teh for 15% off your first order with them.

All in all, you'll save cash hand over fist mixing your own juice, and there's starter kits you can pick up as well if you just want to get a feel for it.

Right now I don't vape enough to justify buying that much stuff for DIY. That being said if I find myself going through much more juice (which seems like it will be very likely with the TFV4) I'll look into it.

For now though, I made a reasonably large order from DashVapes (Canadian reseller who stocks American juices) which should keep me going for a while.

 

I never ended up getting one for myself, but I did buy one for a friend for Christmas and used it a bit and was really impressed. Haven't been vaping much lately, when I get back into it it's definitely going to be my next purchase.

That's not particularly true. PG, VG, and Nicotine are very well studied. The flavoring extracts are safe to drink, but there isn't research good or bad about inhalation. They're also optional as I mentioned. [/quote]

Cigarettes contain formaldehyde, e-cigarettes don't.

There was one "study" which was spread around, but its been completely debunked.

The tl;dr version is they used a cheap chinese tank and heated to the point of the liquid combustion. That would be disgusting, and no one vapes like that.


I'm not claiming that its 100% safe, but I'm definitely encouraging smokers to make the switch. I've seen the health changes in myself and the people around me. No more coughing, wheezing, spitting, and easier breathing with better lung function.

 

Looks good, but unfortunately looks like they only ship to the US. I wish I had a reasonable local vape shop. Some of the prices they try to charge are unbelievable. It's a sin because they're taking away (from themselves) a huge part of the already established vaping market by overcharging and limiting themselves to brand new vapers.
