Zerker

Well....I wanted to be a 1 def pure and accidentally used a dscim stab attack on the spirit of elid quest and well....I'm now 3 defence and it hurts to look at so i thought why not turn it into a zerker but i have a few questions to make sure i hit 45 defence and don't go over. I'd also want barrows gloves.

Quests I'd need to do that give def exp (i think, am i missing any?):
Fremennik Trials Reward: 2,813 Defence Exp
Dragon Slayer Reward: 18,650 Defence Exp
Monkey Madness Reward: 20,000 Defence Exp
Nature Spirit Reward: 2,000 Defence Exp
Heroes Quest Reward: 3,075 Defence Exp

EXP from quests: 46,538
EXP needed for 45 def: 61,512


Now for the problem....if i take the 20k exp on def, I'll be taking the 35k on attack which will put me on 61 which is just as bad as my defence at 3. So i'd need to take the 35k on def, which would be an additional 15k exp and land me on 61,538 exp from quests for defence (45 defence)

I'm currently 28,199 exp away from 61 attack on my pure, so taking the 20k from monkey madness leaves me with 8,199 exp that i can gain before 61 attack, Heroes will give me 3,075 attack exp leaving me with 5,124 attack exp, cutting it close, i know.

I didn't plan this so I'm not sure if my math is correct or if i'm missing defence or attack exp quests for a zerker, I have seen people say you need to do Holy Grail and can't seem to confirm this? I'm already 43 prayer and if my math is correct that would put me over on defence and prayer.

I have already got up to mith gloves on RFD.

 

As far as questing your defence goes, because you're only at 3 def there shouldn't be anything to worry about. The quests you listed are the only required quests that give defence xp (Holy grail is not required and actually not recommended for a zerker build), so you should be fine in that regard.

With your attack however, it depends on whether you have done Underground Pass. If you're currently 28199 xp away from 61 attack, the 20k reward from MM + 3075 xp reward from Heroes + 2812 xp reward from Fremennik trials will leave you with 2312 xp to 61. So if you haven't done the quest, the 3000 xp reward will push you over 60 attack either way. If that's the case, you'd probably be better off taking the 20k defence reward instead so you can complete more quests like Between a rock (for achievement diaries and account "completeness") and just staying at 61 attack or going straight for 70/75. If you have completed the quest though, you should be okay albeit with not that much room for future error.

Just an update, mm reward was exp in attack & Def or str and hp so i took the 35k on the str and hp and put the 20k on attack and def

I'm also only 5,387 exp away from 61 attack without doing heroes yet.

 

Good to hear - I also overlooked the fact that the attack and def xp were grouped together. If you want, I have a pretty comprehensive quest list/order for zerkers that I can give you the link to. It's designed to minimize the skilling needed for quest requirements and should also unlock the maximum content in 176 qps.
