Coinbase Bitcoin Purchasing Guide!

I didn't see it, sorry. I don't believe there's an instant way to get BTC out of the US, although I could be mistaken.

From what I'm hearing from many people - Circle.com requires identity verification now for ANYONE to buy bitcoin - It's no longer instantly create an account and add bitcoin

 

It's been that way for a while; anyone who's into bitcoin for legit purchases shouldn't worry about regulations.

 

No, I mean verification shouldn't be a problem, But it takes time for verification to be approved.

 

Mine was via text and nearly instant, but I've had complaints from my customers that verification did take over 30 minutes. Overall Circle would be your best bet for ~3k/month instant btc.

Hey there, this was helpful thanks. However, I created a Circle account and verified my phone number and email etc. but then when I added a debit card it said "suspended". I opened a help request 5 days ago and they still haven't gotten back to me.
I am from Australia, do they not take Australian debit cards?

Yeah Circle is a regulated company that is based out of America. I don't think they take any other cards other than US cards. You'd be better off with coinbase.

 

Quick question/clarification about Circle: When I add money to my account, it's stored as a $ amount, meaning my balance won't fluctuate (as opposed to something like coinbase, where a bitcoin amount is being stored), right?

Nope, it's stored as BTC so it will fluctuate. I put $200 worth of BTC on circle for a customer of mine (trade fell through) and so it's just been sitting there. I look at it like two weeks later and it's at $240. Happy Accident.

 

There's a button in the settings which lets you keep your balance in USD form, preventing any fluctuations from the BTC price, check it out! ^_^

 

I actually looked around a bit after asking the question and found out that - in the US at least - you have the option of switching between USD and bitcoin as your currency, and that you can still make payments with bitcoin while holding a non-fluctuating USD balance in your account (which might be a preferable option for many). Just something that might be worth adding to the original post.

So I'm trying to use Circle to buy some GP, and my supplier gave me a BTC address but I don't see that as an option to send to... Would entering it into the "email address" part work?

 

Yeah a btc address is considered the same thing for Circle. It just says email address because it's instant from Circle accounts to Circle accounts (and I mean instant within seconds) and you can just use your email you created the circle account with.

Using your btc address will yield the same results ^_^

 

Do you need to be 18+ to buy from coinbase. (Cant use circle due to not being able to add my bank)

Dont want to provide ID when Im only 17 lol

 

Not sure, it's worth a try. I don't recall adding my ID, just my phone number and my card/bank.
