i'll agree with that statement, Dicing was the prime time of rs, (after the mass quit) The other prime would probably be before free trade was removed.

 

2005-2007 was the true 'Prime' of RS, but 2011-pre-EoC is a close second.

I was a Legit One rank;l at w18 monastery. Never did want to buy into DDyce, glad I didn't, hated IRCs...only liked those flowers.

 

They continued after flowers for a few months with IRC, so yeah. Probably should of bought into ddyce

 

@Xiero, Can you explain to R7/Ronaldo7 the story behind K0's Scamming etc, as i know the vast majority of it but I'm sure you are more informed than I on the situation.

 

I was a general rank when Dragondyce went under. Xeiro and Jon were both the main admins running ddyce during this time. KO developed a coke addiction during the prime of dicing. When gambling was removed and dicing went to irc profits obviously dropped. Now for any normal person with out a drug addiction this was more then sustainable income. KO begin cutting buy in prices and giving specials on weeklies for bulk amounts paid. Eventually it lead to most of the ranks having weeklies paid forever or 3-6 months in advance. He then started to out right scam hosts. He would borrow money and sell things he never actually intended selling. After awhile the sheer amount owed become noticeable and hosts turned to Jon and Xeiro considering they truly ran the clan. (Jon and Xeiro collected jackpot fee's and handled the bots) Once Jon and Xeiro realized how much had been owed/scammed they gave KO a ultimatum. Allow Xeiro and Jon to run the clan and all finances or they walked. At first KO agreed and for about two months things begin getting better. Weekly specials were removed and full amounts collected. The clan begin turning a profit and started refunding KO's debts. You have to understand the debts were easily 10k+ so it was slow going. I myself was owed 1bil Eoc at the time and eventually just put it towards my weeklies. The entire time Jon and Xeiro were running the finances KO started selling his accounts and rsn's. Eventually he started selling irl items as well. I believe 3 hosts were sold the same computer/monitor. Once Xeiro and Jon found out they pulled KO aside and a argument must have happened. (I was actually hosting at the time) Jon was kicked from the teamspeak and Xeiro left saying " Okay Boss" i believe. The next day i logged in to find that a mass mutiny had erupted. All of the hosts except one decided to leave and follow Jon and Xeiro. They attempted to start over and opened Playerswap. The damage had been done and most slowly turned to 07 commission gambling. Playerswap eventually closed down and a lot of the hosts scattered in different directions. A few created swapping clans and others joined 07 commission staking. There's a shit ton more that happened between this entire time line (Ali's fake hospital trip) among other things. Eventually bits and pieces of info came to light. I really enjoyed my hosting time at dragondyce. I made a shit ton of money and had some really really good times. Xeiro and Jon were incredible shift leaders and admins. I really wish playerswap took off.

I know you are banned but ill answer this anyways. Raza and Ameer are most famously known for being Fishy hosts yes. After Fishy closed shop they turned to staking. Raza and Ameer kept in contact with many of the dragondyce hosts. When we would get huge bets they'd sometimes cover. Some time near christmas staking took a dive. During this same time from we benefited from extremely large bettors. Raza and ameer both bought back into ddyce but rarely hosted. They mainly just wanted to cover large bets. I think at one point we had a large bettor win several pots in a row for huge amounts of 07. I remember one user winning 400m, 600m, 800m 1.6b and 2b 07 pots all in the same day. (07 was around 3.2/m asian prices) Patrica or something along those lines. I actually think he went up a total of 4b 07 on us. He attempted to sell 2b and was scammed here on sythe.

Ha, what an interesting read. I didn't pay much attention to Ddyce once flowers were removed from the game, well gambling altogether at that point. Nice to see someone lay it out as you have done.

 

Shame. I remember he was a nice guy when I used to run for him. At least, when he interacted with his workers he was always pleasant.

It's interesting how a lot of hosts consider the dicing/flowering era as the best time of RS, where I personally consider it one of the worst.

All that hype over 2/3 character names still confuses me to this day.

 

It was the best time lol. Made plenty muting hosts.

 

I view free trade release till EOC the best days of runescape. It was easily the most profitable. I always enjoyed watching people make bank off a video game.

@Hattez - The story you mention above is such a sad way to see the clan go. I jumped out just prior to 07 coming in as I could definitely tell things were going downhill and RL things started catching up with me; sad really, considering all of the effort Eric & Jon put in to try and keep things afloat. I'm astonished at the Ali situation too; she was always so nice...

Had a great few years with DD though, that's for sure.

 

When I used to host on a potato pc lol, this was one of the best things we did from time to time



I still remember when david "8ck" I believe his name was, cant completely remember as it was a few years ago but KO fined him 1b for some online pool game thing and then after taking the 1b from him he proceeded to kick him from the clan, a lot of bs happened whilst I was there, mainly just certain ranks leaving or getting kicked/fined and everytime it happened an admin would tell us a story of why they were kicked which clearly wasnt the real reasons, lots of fake rumours were made about the people that left ddyce, not sure why because e-drama is weak

At the time Jon/Eric/RJ werent Shift leaders or admins as far as I remember
