    New Msn Scam Beware

Well yesterday i was MMing a trade and an unexpected thing happened. This made me entirely confused and i was not sure what to do. They were both angry at each other because one wouldnt do all at once and the other wanted it all at once. I thought that the seller was just trying to get the other guy angry and then after i saw this. Here is proof of what i saw and then when i check the chat logs what it says.

    What I Saw

    Who Actually Typed

As you can see it was an MSN bot but i had no way to see that this was one. The only reason i accepted the trade was because before the trade he was angry at the seller because he didnt want to do trade. This is an obvious reason for how there should be a safer way to trade as there is no way to tell who is typing anymore.

Hope this helps a lot out there as this has now happened to me and i will be more cautious next time. Sorry for Lahming as he was the one scammed.

Thanks your input as well would help

Btw i can get Lahming to verify if you wish. I will refund his money but i was just wondering what your opinions were first. Am i responsible even though he said yes many times and i thought he was just trying to get the other guy angry. Your opinions please

That's not a new scam. You just change your MSN name and font to match the other person's.

It sucks to be in that guy who says who says "No, No, No"

The only way to escape from this is to view your contacts with their email addresses instead of their nick name.

    New Msn Scam Beware

That's not a new scam, there is even a sticky on it.
It's a new MSN exploit, where msn+ users use the "mimic" command to imitate someone's name, typing style etc. exactly.
That way the MM in question gets confused and might hand the money to the other party, and thus unwillingly help in a scam.

I was one of the first victims to the mimic, it was tried on me and Yakov with some mills buyer.
It costed me 7m in MM failure fees..
Yakov banned him eventually, and there's a thread about it. Yet still people fall victim to it quite often.

    New Msn Scam Beware

u can still view there email address right? and there address hasn't changed right?
its just one of those msn + clone srcipts right?

but if u installed msn+ and set nicknames for each person like an mm it would show up the same everytime and would pervent this mix up.

    right?

Gpose = 8ko; the same guy who spoofed Annex's Msn.

It's a tough thing to spot; when unsure, the best thing to do is talk in a private window.
