Delayed Ban

Quick question - what's the longest that a (macroing) ban can be delayed by? I've heard that after 6 months the chance of being banned for botting is basically nonexistant, but I just wanted to confirm/hear other people's experiences with delayed bans.

 

Personally in this time of Runescape most i've witnessed is 1 week delay, usually it's no more than 48 hours.

 

Yeah, I was thinking that it couldn't realistically be more than a week, but I remember seeing a thread someone made claiming to be banned after 6 months+ of no botting.

It kind of depends. From what I've heard, if your account triggers their review system, they;ll look back awhile to see if you have. Ranges from a couple days to a couple months

 

I've logged back into an old account the I forgot I had (Found the notepad document with the User and Pass) and it'd been banned. It worked out to only be about 6 weeks or so after I quit, but it was still a reasonable amount of time.

Basically once you've botted, you've put the account at risk forever.

 

Most of the bans for botting in 07 happen during pmod bot bust events. If you're not caught then, its usually through extensive review and they'll get you eventually. I'd always store your valuables on a mule if you're planning on botting.

 

Thanks for the input, everyone. Just to be more specific, I have an account that I botted on up until about 5 months ago - since then, it hasn't been botted or played on at all for that matter. I've recently started using it again and am pretty confident that the risk of a ban now is minimal, but just wanted to be certain before investing time in it or leaving wealth on the account.

 

After 5 months, I'd say there's a high chance you'll be okay. If you do get a ban, there's a good chance it will just be a moderate one for 14 days, that's what I normally get for a first offence.

I'd recommend playing safe for a week or so, if nothing happens, then start investing.

 

Yeah that was my line of thought. I'm not going to be botting on the account anymore so I think I should be safe. Curious to see if anyone does have any experiences with a long delayed ban though.
