League is setting themselves up to fail, and I cant wait for this game to die.

I play nearly every day, but it's horrid. I know how WoW players felt, I know how Runescape players felt. Watching the game you loved go to shit, and there's nothing you can do. No matter what the players say, the developers are CERTAIN they're making the right call.

It's like companies forget that the players are 100% of their profit. Without us, there is no you.

Every update seems to get worse. Attempt to fix something that's been broken for ages with another update that nobody's ever asked for, which just breaks more things.

Horrid, unupdated client and game code. Largest video game in the world, easily the buggiest of its category.

Pathetic community support. Pick and choose issues, spam tournaments when real conflict arises and buy out anyone who says otherwise.

Broken updates. For those not familiar, I'll set up the most recent champs for you:

Illaoi - If someone knows how to play this champ, you're going to have a bad time. Full tank will outduel 1v3 with ult. Full AD will oneshot squishies and still kill tanks. Can freely destroy half of someone's health in or out of lane with 0 risk (pulls their soul out or some retarded shit and does damage to it that goes to you)
Summons tentacles in a typically melee-only lane (top) which hit anyone who goes near them for a large amount of health, at no cost, cooldown or time for them to disappear.
Innate lifesteal. Nuff said.
Overall, think nasus but with more range, a gapclose, and a kit that hits harder without the q scaling.

Kindred - No part of this champ encourages fun gameplay. None of the kit makes any sense. The ult was added for "flashy plays" for youtube clips with riot's name on them to get popular. There's no outplaying the ult. Throw it in a losing duel, you can now easily win the duel. Throw in a losing teamfight, same thing. Winning? Just don't throw it. Cool. There isn't a single other ult that can stop your team from getting damaged while allowing theirs to go from 100 to 99%. Not to mention she has stupid mobility and chase as well.

Tahm Kench - Every single league player hates this champ. Can outduel hypercarry melee champs base damage - Has a free shield for all of his health - can save teammates with a speed boost and shoot them away OR eat enemies with a HUGE HUGE HUGE damage ratio, spitting them into your teammates. Oh also a crossmap ult with a teammate for free ganks at any time. Horrid.

Ekko - "Oh shit i got caught....oh shit. Wait rofl I'm ekko"

Literally a pentakill. This isn't a joke.

Bard - Heal, stun, aoe stasis, escape, scaling damage, mana regen from passive in lane. NOTHING SHOULD HAVE BOTH A HEAL AND FREE MANAREGEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reksai - Nerfed to oblivion because her kit is so stupid that it's either broken or useless.

Kalista - Pathetic.

Azir - Coded horribly, more bugs on this champ than the rest of the game in its entirety. If he's allowed to farm, has the highest poke range of any champ in the game with wwwq, and can oneshot your carries without being anywhere near danger.

Gnar - This is where they get decent again.



Stop creating new broken shit, and fix champs that have 1% playrate. It's pathetic. There is no reason for new champions, fix your old ones.


Opinions? Yes, this is a rant, but it's pretty sad. I love the game, but I hate playing it.

 

lol i love hearing lolbabbys cry about their precious little meme game. There was a reason I jumped ship when I did, as a player whose been with League since 2009, by the time 2013 rolled around, all riot cared about was the money and the memes. After they nerfed several of my favourite heroes I decided fuck it and stopped playing entirely. The game is flawed fundamentally, the fact that the skill celling is so low and that its designed to be very easy to pickup and get into is its downfall. I also remember when they had to increase the price of RP in Australia to 'adjust for inflation' - LOL, Riot are a bunch of greedy kents and they just want to exploit as many millions out of this game as they can before everyone either moves onto hots, overwatch or dota. Runes, masteries and summoner spells are all one big joke, not to mention their flawed tribunal system and little kiddies throwing around the word toxic every 5 seconds. By the way, you should youtube search 'league of children' its a hilarious youtube channel that showcases streamers and league games where the players act incredibly disgruntled and trolly.

 

I have no idea why it's the most popular moba. Everything about it is worse than every other moba. They charge money for everything possible.

Smite, Dota, etc. Cosmetics skins for game performance/champion mastery. League literally introduced champion recolours and charged money for them.

Making a blue fish red. $10. Absolutely pathetic.

They constantly ignore the community telling them how pathetic they are as well, and it's going to start catching up.

 

This part was actually really useful, thanks a lot. As someone who basically stopped since a week before season's end after I got my goal and border, I have no fucking clue what Kindred or Illaoi do. It just helps convince me that it was a good decision to stop.

I think you're being stupidly melodramatic. Have they made poor decisions lately. Yep, but that'll always happen, sometimes bad patches just happen to go a few in a row.

Well power creep in new champs is nothing new for League, but I agree that Riot should fix their priorities. They've done a good job in terms of increasing champion diversity as of late but there's definitely room for improvement (i.e. focus on reworking obsolete/linear champions: I heard about a ww rework about a year ago but that was the end of that, the poppy rework was pretty successful imo but that's just one of many, increasing champion bans to force more niche picks, etc.). Not to mention the fact that we still don't have an official replay system, no sandbox mode (because apparently that would "increase toxicity" ), and the client is terrible.

 

I've been playing since beta, and recently, I haven't been playing at all. The game doesn't feel like it used to. It's funny you wrote this because I've been feeling the same exact way. It's why I started an OSRS account, actually

 

Riot is only after the financial gain of players unless they're in the top 1% of players who even have a chance of progressing to a competitive scene. They release all these new champions to try and balance the competitive scene because the last champion they brought out was too strong and they have to nerf that champion by bringing out a champion which is stronger.

The other main reason they bring out new champions is for the skins that come with that champion which people feel inclined to buy. I still play league and I feel the game died in the midst of 2013 towards the end of season 3.

 

Season 2 and 3 were by far my favorite. Still can't believe it's already Season 5.. I hate all the new updates. Every preseason I cringe at reading the retarded patch notes. I'm pretty happy this game is dying because it is the biggest time-sink I've ever fucking been a part of.

 

I do not agree with many of the points, and while a lot of them are not objective at and most derive from your subejctive personal opinion its hard to argue against it.
The points about the champions i disagree with strongly, ever since they started slowing down champion making to once a month/2 months, their champions have been quality in the sense of identity. While it is unclear in which lane would be the most optimally to play Kindred, Kindred in itself has a very clear kit, and clear goals, the champion can be compared to a shaco kind of character, where your success can easily snowball, you said that the ult dosnt make sense and that you put it down and you win the fight. Welp, that is far from the case, usually the ult does the opposite of helping, i dont know if you know exactly what it does, but judging by how you assess it in your main post it sounds like you dont know that it makes the enemy invincible as well. That said, you can fuck up entire team comps, (same for bard) which makes it take a good amount of skill to use to know when and where to use it, and as such cannot be used anytime anywhere to win a fight.

The rest of the points im not gonna address sounds like the usual "riot has ruined my game" circlejerk around reddit and general forums of league. I love you though Blade, i loved the older season better, but maybe you just dont enjoy the game anymore, and the game is not planning on catering to one outcry about the game.

The game is everchanging, and there is not gonna be one meta that persist season to season (apart from adc supp bot) this is also what makes it hard for pro players. You may have simply grown old for the game i can say the same for myself, i just like to play solo queue, but i dont enjoy the game like i used to, you may just be too old, the game is catered to a much younger audience, and if you go to any game cafe you will see that reflected.

The game is not gonna see any sudden influx in growth, the amount of growth it is at now i would say is the peak of its growth, mind you im not saying its on an incline to lose players, its just not gonna grow as rapidly as it used to, and this is the main reason riot sold the rest of their stocksharings a month ago to Tencent, now this chinese company owns all of riot and riot is merely a puppet for their vision, back in 3 years ago, riot only sold a fraction of the company to tencent. To sell the entire thing now must give you an image of how the growth is at its peak.

That said, we respect you put out ur frustration out here, love you blade, but i dont think it will change, a lot of vocal minorities like you have been upvoted a lot on reddit about topics like these, and they wont be addressed cause riot is catering to other people.

Any comments about skill ceiling i just dont understand why people make points like this, league is a highly skilled game at the top of the competetion, so is any game. But to say its easy, and easier than dota, if you talk the talk, then walk the walk too. Get to d1-master-challenger etc.

edit: half of the champions you mentioned are really good in temrs of identity, some been nerfed for good reason, but theyre still really good, you rant about ekkos ult being broken, but if thats the case why does he have a 47-48% winrate accross all ranks? he takes skill to use, and isnt broken, he is incredibly fun in my opinion though and has his strong sides. THE only single champion you mentioned whose op is tahm, and hes banned in mostly every game, so its not like the games community isnt addressing said things.

I do know how kindred's ult works, but which fight is easier to win? Your team almost dead and theirs full hp, or both teams almost dead? It's a huge impact ult that destroys tower dives, which are very common in this meta.

Champions ultimates are supposed to be high impact, by ur logic ud think poppy rengar annie amumu any single champion with aoe ults are op, malphite? the list goes on. Kindred and bard have high impact, hard to use ults, that has a high likely hood of fucking up ur team, like malph ult have almost a 0% to fuck up ur team.

The entire idea of ultimates is that they are high impact. And i dont agree with the notion that kindred is the pioneer of this kind of philosophy, since an ult like malph is way stronger and ur case would of been stronger if u used him as an example, since kindred is very high skill cap champion, and generally only at high elo ull see good kindreds, also why around low diamond and plat no kindred bans while higher people ban kindred. Kindred can be associated as a more viable shaco, if one is not skilled enough then you will reverse snowball.

 

Sucks you don't enjoy the game. League is the most popular game right now so they're obviously doing something right.

If you don't like a champ, ban it. The only stupid ones on your list are TK and kindred. Every patch is going to have OP champs due to nerfs/buffs happening to items and champions.

 

I agree here; Draft is a nice touch where you can just ban stupid shit. So glad ranked isn't BP. All of the new champs don't even matter as they're banned every game.

 

Draft is a cesspool of toxic players who have to play draft mode. At least from my experiences.

 

I meant draft as in the mode. Ranked is draft and there is much less toxicity there, but it still exists xD.

 

Champions are unbalanced, in my opinion, if their kit:
-Is not ult reliant, can easily output crazy damage or utility without ult. Riven, Renekton, etc.
-Has little to no counterplay. Annie, Malzahar, Warwick
-Scales well off of only base stats.

If a champ meets all of these, I think they should be looked at. The champs you chose don't all fit this. Rengar? 1,3, not 2. Malph? Definitely not 1, 2 and 3. Bard? 1,3. Kindred? 1,2. (i just think the ult is stupid) amumu 2,3.

I admit you know far more about the game than I do, but these are my opinions. Just trying to start a discussion here.

 

idk why but i read all of this and to be completely honest i agree wih 99% of it. Riot is making silly decisions I thought that in season 5 they started making shitty decisions but its now just getting out of hand with all the champoin "fixes" but breaks something else. 1 step forward 2 steps backwards imo.
