Are Fun Ranks Pretty Much Impossible to Get?

Pretty much the title. If they are "fun" ranks, why aren't there more people with them. I rarely see an average user with a fun rank. I know there is a cracker head fun rank in this year's christmas event, but when considering the number of people in the event, chances are slim to none to be able to get the rank. Basically, are fun ranks not really "fun", but rather "exclusive" ranks?

 

Their rare as fuck frankly, I would happily drop $100 for a fun rank if not more, Its sad but it is what it is.

You wouldn't be posting this thread if they weren't so exclusive. You are meant to go above and beyond for the forums in order to obtain one. The exclusivity is what makes them so desired.

 

why aren't they tradeable like miniranks? and imo they shouldn't be called fun ranks if they aren't fun but exclusive.

 

I'm unsure if you're making a suggestion or asking for support/help? I'm unsure as to why they aren't tradable - this must add to the exclusivity. It's about doing something above and beyond for the site, and if you have proven to do so then what grounds does someone else have to own that rank? Sure a name change might be in order, but I believe it has become social custom here at Sythe to refer to them as fun ranks, and that won't change.

 

They are deliberately untradeable. Hattez recently earned one for helping site security. They're meant for users who help the site and earn them by working hard. If they were tradeable, they'd lose both the sentimental value behind them and the essence of why they are coveted. The fact that they are handed out very seldom makes them desired. Otherwise they'd just be an extended version of miniranks. If you want to have some fun icons that you can buy, go with miniranks ^^

 

Yeah, I wouldn't want fun ranks to be tradeable. I'd rather them be extremely rare, even if I don't have one, so no bias. Can't wait till I get my hands on one of em, if I ever do. Grats hattez on your sick rank, btw. Deserved it for sure.

 

They're basically a reward for putting in a lot of work or winning a competition. It's been like this for years now. Some people are a staff member for years and never earn one. Miniranks were created to be the sort of "Fun commodity" that they are.

That's ignoring the fact that when people see anyone with a rank they assume it encourages trust.

 

They are supposed to be hard to get. Everybody wants them and everybody wants them tobe exclusive.

 

They are honestly not that amazing, just a little badge under your name that is meaningless.

 

Apply for OMM - It's basically a fun rank.

 

Exclusivity is fun.
