is this game still worth getting into?

Winter break is coming up and this could be fun to play. i was a player back in 2005 up until 2009. i have an account already since i tried it out and i was too busy to continue, but now i have some extra time. is the player base still decent, with a decent community?

 

The player base is only growing. It was once significantly smaller than rs3 but is about even now.

 

I just got back into it. Im liking it so far, i see less bots than i remember back in the ol days.

 

I started a few months ago after 4 year gap and am loving it

 

Here are my thoughts: 07 is like pokemon. It's difficult to play it for months on months, but you're easily able to get into it for a couple months every now and again. To directly answer your question: yeah ^-^

 

Unless you finished everything back in 2007, then definitely play the game. Even if you did, there's a variety of extra features added in, and you still get the nostalgia from when you did it all before.

 

I would say the game is definitely worth playing. It's a blast and the grind is quite fun

 

how is the pk atmosphere? dead or alive

 

It's the most alive scene in the game! Just be prepared, its not like back in the day. You'll need to bring your A-game as everyone has AGSes and knows how to 1tick more or less. Bringing smite gives you a chance at some incredible loot though!

 

I would say now is a good time to get back into the game. There's a new continent being released next year (I think the first third of it is scheduled to be out in early January), which should bring a LOT of new content.

 

Only worth it if you expect to play it long term, not just the winter break. A winter break wouldn't be nearly enough to get good stats, and if you stop playing after that, it would all be just a waste of time.

 

Definitely worth getting into but you need to have a goal for sure to be productive.

 

With the new gamemode, DeadManMode, the PK scene kicked off again, although the DMM servers are a little quite as many players raged quit form the game. Jagex are releasing a seasonal type of gameplay coming April (I think) next year and each season will last 3 months.

The game is a commitment; winter break is not long enough to enjoy it.

 

I don't remember exactly how long things took, but is a month of playing moderately enough to make a gmaul pure? (~50 attack, 70 strength, ~75 range)?

 

Depends how long you play per day. Gotta remember you also need to get mith gloves and other quests to finish off the pure.

Im sure as long as you spend your time wisely. I maxed an account within a month but I grinded alot.

 

I tried some old-school F2P Pking (Mostly for Nostalgia) and it was nothing like how I remembered it, however their is definitely still a large amount of players who do still PK. It's just really different.

Honestly I don't reckon it would unless you plan on playing for a large majority of your day or are planning to bot.

 

I've tried a couple of times to get on and play around but I just can't find the time nor have the patience to work on everything again. I think it's a little better than RS3 but I still don't think it's personally worth MY time.
