Can Someone Win Paypal Disputes Over Invoices

Hey guys, i just sold an account via paypal invoice, i set in the terms and conditions that it's a non refundable payment (for my security).
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone winning a dispute along these lines or someone going over the top to get it back (aka police / other means)
i also got the guy to dispute then cancel it to make it so that he could not reopen a dispute
so let me know is there anyway they can get their money back or any story's having to do with this topic.
    thanks!

Why would you accept an invoice?

First and foremost having someone open a dispute and cancel it is very risky business. It could get your paypal limited/closed having people do that repeatedly.

Second, it doesn't matter how you accept a payment via paypal or what notes you put in the comments section you can and will still lose a dispute. If its fraudulent (hacked/stolen paypal) there is pretty much nothing you can do to win the dispute.

Best practice is to get the person to e-mail you a copy of their ID from the e-mail address associated with the paypal account. That will help at least show that it wasn't fraud if they open a dispute.

I would guess an invoice payment is even more risky than a regular paypal payment lol.

You should never send someone an invoice tbh, makes it easier to dispute later on.

I would only ever use invoices if It was a tangible item cover'd by seller protection.

I would just stay away from PayPal in general when dealing with virtual items unless the person you're accepting money from is super trusted, it just doesn't seem worth the risk to me when they're able to chargeback the money at any point with you not being able to do much about it.

As aforementioned, if the Paypal has been compromised/not owened by the buyer, you are really shit out of luck. Nevertheless, if it is owned by the buyer and they have in fact sent the money off of their regular/home IP address you shouldn't worry too much. I'm sure on the differences between invoicing someone and regular payments, but I doubt there really is that much of a difference. I'd imagine the only real difference is that the invoice can be used for businesses for tax purposes but won't strengthen nor weaken a Paypal dispute or other.

As far as claim and cancelling goes, that's an old trick that is long beyond useless now. I would avoid this to prevent a limit on your PayPal account.

You don't need to go to all extents to win a PayPal dispute. There are a plethora of threads on these forums that outline what you need to win a dispute - although not fullproof. In my opinion, all that is needed is the skype conversations outlining the relevant deal, if the person has chargebacked then resort to report a scammer here on Sythe.org and send that link as proof. This will show that the other user has been investigated and banned for the occurrence and that in itself holds a lot of sway with the dispute centre.

The question is why would the person chargeback? Unless you recover the account. Mhm..

Obviously if the other person is illegitimate and wants a free account and to keep their money.
