Most valuable skill

Hey all, just started up after ~5 years away. I guess im starting fresh again :'( . Any thought on the most valuable skill for making money? I noticed yews are fairly pricey so was thinking about that.

Currently with skills, I'm pretty sure that RuneCrafting is still one of the best ways to go for money, the issue is you need to invest a lot of time into it. The reward is pretty crazy though.

I was hoping for something more afkable. Is it high profit due to less botters?

 

Botting is pretty much dead, to a certain extent.

I'd say Hunter, it isn't really afk but not as boring as RC imo. It is a bit of a grind to get to 63 but then you make a lot of money on red chinchompa.

More afk route would be mining in Motherload mine.

 

Yews aren't very good.
RC is roughly 250k-300k at Abyss with nature runes at level 50.
Long term, Slayer can be very high profit / hr and gives you combat levels aswell.

 

IMO getting high combat skills for PVM/slayer is the best investment you can make skill-wise. If you're not into that, runecrafting or hunter are your best options. Some resource prices are really crazy now (dragon bones and chins in particular). As far as afk methods, there aren't really any.

 

The combat stats for PvM because that's where all the money is at.

 

Slayer/RC/Farming for sure.

Construction can also be quite expensive.

 

I think he is looking for money making methods so construction is irrelevant. Farming can make some money if you just do herbs and limps but its pretty slow compared to other methods (but afk).

Slayer is great money! There are wyverns, abyssal demons and you can always do Zulrah if you can pvm! It is great money just not afkable...wyverns are quite afkable if you are ranging them! Great profits and you get a decent amount of magic experience from alching alot of the drops

I don't mind it not being afkable if it involves combat haha. Looks like I could rotate between hunter and slayer so I don't get too bored.

 

Slayer can be done with a pure, but isn't a good way forward if you're looking to make profit from Slayer.

Zerkers are more suitable if you want to do bossing/Slayer, but as far as a pure goes for Slayer, I wouldn't recommend using one.

As someone who just knocked off 99 fletching, I wouldn't consider it really worth the time to AFK with regards to moneymaking.

You could start with doing farm runs, as you can get a fair amount from herbs these days, that'll give a little bit per day for very little time at all.

 

Seems i need to make up my mind, do i make a pure and pvp or a main and enjoy the pvm/pve....or make a skiller and just eff around all day.

Hows the environment for each style nowdays?

 

I would recommend making a main if you don't already have one because that can fund your other accounts.

Like others have said you can't really slay or pvm on a pure build, you also don't really sound like someone who would like to be a skiller.

 

Fair enough, I haven't gotten 99 Fletching since 07 first came out, and back then it was good for making money at the beginning so I guess I'm just basing it off that.

 

High PvM stats are probably the most valuable skills. Though as Brendan said, RuneCrafting is also a good choice.
