Any of yall enjoy doing any sort of hunting or fishing?
I know it's not generally the most prevalent hobby of people who play online video games, but hey, there has to be others out there besides me right?

If not, what about firearms in general?

nod had a gun thread not too long ago that was fairly popular, so yeah there's people with interest in it here (somewhat). I'd buy a gun but I'm too lazy to go through the required gun training course that takes a weekend so

I don't do any hunting or fishing, but I'm a skier, backpacker, and climber. I also used to do a ton of archery. I had thought about small game bow hunting, but I got super busy so I never got the license lol

    Where are you from?
I have my concealed carry permit and take my handgun with me almost everywhere. You should do it, it's worth it.

Never been skiing/snowboarding, always wanted to try it out.
I have waterskied and wakeboarding.. enjoyed both of them.
I also have a compound bow, I deer hunt with it sometimes. I love them, so much fun to shoot.

    Nice, this season?

I'm in canada, concealed carry permits are next to impossible to get, they issue something like 70 cc permits a year. Gotta have real good reason to get one. Long guns are much easier to get, but you still need a license for it.

I'm a casual fan of canoeing / kayaking. I don't know much about different brands or whatnot, I just enjoy going out and doing canoe trips every once and awhile. My favorite is a summer trip I take once every two years: 50 miles down a local river. It's a 3 day and 2 night trip, where we just camp along the river bank during the night time. Fun trip ^-^

I'm an avid fisherman fishing probably 1/3rd of the days during the summer. I used to hunt partridge often but with midterms coinciding exactly with the hunting season it's really hard to get out so I have only been a handful of times since university.

I've gone fishing once and I loved it. I live in the city so it's hard to get a nice quiet spot to fish with a few friends while drinking the night away. I'll look forward to the next time I get the chance to chill with my old fishing buddies again. For now, I don't know what outside is xD.

How many can you fit safely in your 12 ft vs your 16.5? I'm thinking more about getting a 14-16 ft cause I'm going to be out fishing with me + 3 other fair sized guys so the approx weight is going be 800 lbs before we even factor in beer and supplies. There's a 91 Lund 16 ft in fairly good shape with a 40 hp Johnson motor for sale near me + a trailer with it for $4000 firm, seems like a decent deal but I'd like to be in the range of $3k or less :/

16ft is what I'd go with if you wanna fish 4 people and even then youll be limited to stationary fishing for the most part to avoid tangles and what not unless you vary depths with different tackle. 4000 is definitely a decent price assuming the motor is strong and the boat doesnt leak. Trailers are really expensive by themselves as welll

yeah true, 4 people is kind of the max, im thinking usually it'll just be me and maybe one or two other buds.

i'm just really on the fence about buying one, this is basically the best time for me to buy one, but that $4000 could be put towards a nicer sled than what I already have....

    Loyal, where are you from?
There are 8-16 foot jon boats for sale in my area all over craigslist for $800-3k.. some nice ones too. How big is the lake you fish? You'd be surprised, you don't need a yamaha 250 outboard to run a small boat. I have a 10 ft with a johnson 25 on it and a trolling motor. Gets me where I need to go. I yse it for duck hunting a lot though.

im in western canada, there's hundreds of lakes around here so I don't really go to one sized lake, ideally I'm going to hit up the big okanagan in bc this summer for a week or longer at time tho, which is like 80 miles long from one end to the other.

I know i dont get need anything massive and with a lot of power but fishing is always more fish with one or two people with you so id like to accomodate for that.

You have some great trout fishing streams in BC that you should give a shot to. It's beautiful to go with your girlfriend even (if you have one). I'll likely be in western Canada for some sort of chemical engineering internship I can't wait to fish other parts of Canada.

Word man. Not sure how often you've been to interior BC, but oh my god it really is arguably the most beautiful place on earth. If I could spend all of my summers living in Kelowna, I would in a god damn heartbeat. I live in Alberta though and don't get to visit BC that often though :(

however, a good buddy's parents has a cabin right on the okanagan just ouside of Vernon. I'm hoping to spend a week here in there this summer there. Get a ton of fishing and wake surfin' done

I actually live in northern Ontario but I've been to Banff and it was really beautiful. I can't wait to go back out there for the scenery and fishing. Our walleye fishing is awesome where I live and it's really fun to go with either my 2 best friends, my dad or my girlfriend but I went exploring this summer to some remote rivers and the trout fishing and the rush was a nice change of pace and I've heard the mountains offer spectacular trout fishing.
