The only future I can see for this is it slowly dying out over 6 months

 

At least it's a completely different type of game attempt by Jagex. Funorb, Mechscape, Stellar Dawn, + more all crashed and burned, and they fucked Runescape beyond recognition.

Hearthstone is already just so far ahead of them, and the game is so well balanced, they will probably divert more RS players to HS than they actually draw in.

 

I wouldn't have overly high hopes for it. But hey, as a business they've gotta take risks. You never know, it could really hit it off.

 

Exactly, gotta take risks. But they're previous ventures haven't done so well, so I wouldn't be surprised if the activity of this cardgame matches the activity of DarkScape

 

Quite honestly, their best chances at a second successful game seemed to be Mechscape, yet they scrapped that completely for Stellar Dawn, then scrapped that one too.

I mean hey, I only know a bit about business from my degree, but every time they announce an idea, it seems like something that will never catch on, and generally that's what happens, they lose a load of money.

 

The part of it being a company, involves taking risks. This particular new update (game), hopefuly is promising.

 

Their last two announced games were promising too :\... Hopefully this one sticks. I'm interested hah.

Jagex should just focus on developing Runescape. We've seen what happens when they try new things through Transformers Universe.

 

Holy shit, that got scrapped too didn't it? War of Legends did as well. Do they literally not have a single active game to show for 15 years of development as a "Games Company"?

 

I think RuneScape is their bread and butter, and even that is lacking, severely. Something tells me JaGeX, as a company, won't last too much longer.

 

They should be trying to maintain its survival (As one of the largest MMOs) before pumping a load of money into other stuff yeah.

The only game I can remember them releasing (Excluding Funorb and Mobile Games) is Ace of Spades in 2012.

I remember their operating income in 2011 was -10m pounds, and it doesn't seem like they've done much better the last few years, unless micro transactions is saving them.
