I'm just glad the buffoonery has come to a halt. This is an idea that I don't see the use in supporting.

It creates a TON of unnecessary work for the OMM's. If the buyer wants a recovery test then they can request one via an OMM, it's pointless it being forced on all trades.

I just think it's a bad idea to sell/buy RuneScape account in general.

Recovery tests dont do anything. They will always fail becouse they are not from original IP.

Yeah recovery tests have been proven to be ineffective at best.

Bit of a gravedig, but correct essentially. It's hard to prevent people from lying whether they are the original owner or not; however, I don't feel requiring this is the way to go about it.

Didnt bother to read most of the responses but this idea is stupid. The more people you have linked to a account the more likely it is to be locked or permanently banned. Having a recovery test is great but its a huge risk to the seller... Ive personally lost 2 accounts valued around 600m 07 because of multiple i.p's associated with the account. Instead of being a cheap ass pay the right amount from a trusted seller. People selling maxed 07 accounts for 100m 07 are 99% of the time going to recover them. If it's to good to be true then wake up and realize it.

you clearly have no idea how recoveries work ... no mather how long passes, an original owner will always be able to recover an account.

as stated above, lets say original owner lives in norway and buyer lives in USA.

buyer is able to recover lets say first time, everything goes well.

then 4 months later, original owner decides he wants his account back, he could use the same logic you posted but instead of saying he moved house, he'd say he got hacked X months ago and voilà, since he'd be submitting appeal from same location where he created the account, he would get the account back 100% chances,

then even if buyer has valid info, chances of him succesfully recovering from the original owner are next to none because every thing you do on your account (change email, submit appeals, etc,) is recorded by jagex so the jagex employee would just go in the account's "history" and see "oh, original claimed his account was hacked 4 months ago by some1 from USA" and see you are the same "hacker" and deny

the rule you are proposing would not really add anymore "security" to the seller's side but instead just make account selling/buying more tedious IMO

It's dumb to restrict account sales with a convoluted rule that has already been proven to be ineffective, as stated above. While account sales are one of the riskier transactions you can do on Sythe and I understand your frustration, the logistics and payoff of implementing such an inadequate solution just wouldn't be worth it.

No way will this ever occur as it's a limitation on the market.

At the end of the day the original owner can always recover it so a recovery test is redundant anyways.

    Locked.
