A Question

Why does everyone think that Deadman Mode is going to die out? I have read every argument so far and I don't think that it has as short a life span as everyone else thinks. People have been saying Runescape is dying for years now and news flash it is still here.

I believe that the game will stay around long term because it is literally a hardcore PVP game mode. You will have the hardcore players playing because of the risks and challenges associated with this game mode. Sure, people are dying now and losing their items because someone X levels higher than them comes along and kills them, but in the long term you will always gain more xp than you lose and rebuilding isn't very hard at all. When everyone levels up (because they are protecting their stats) in the long term the game will even out and you will only have PKers playing, not people trying to rag on low levels. So unless you played for 5 minutes, got killed and didn't intend on actually giving the game mode a chance why is everyone complaining about it ?

 

I agree with what you're saying I personally don't see this game dieing out due to the 5x xp rate. I definitely think there is some much needed changes for death penalty which they seem to have been working on.

 

In my opinion it'll die out because people will rage quit from losing stats and their bank.

 

But if you are playing the game to PK, then you wont be losing many stats because you would be protecting them.. I don't see the need for skilling in this game mode?

 

People will get tired of training.
High levels will literally own the game and stop level 3s from playing.
& Just rage quitting in general, I Got bored of it after an hour.

 

it's not that much about the stats rather then the bank that you lose imo.

 

It's already died down a lot. The loss is huge when you die. This makes players quit.

Later on, high levels will get bored since 1v1ing maxed in max gear is boring.

No new players can join because they just get rekt. Level 50s are already starting to get PKed in safe zones and the game mode just started.

 

It will continue to have it's dedicated players, but the niche itself makes a decline in players inevitable. It's more of a minigame than a main one.

 

Based on the demand of DMM in the market, it appears to be dying down.. but I don't think it's going to in a while considering that it just started. Overtime, I'm sure it will attract more attention when taking into account future updates.

 

It will definitely die out. I tried it out yesterday for a few hours, and even though I didn't have much gear, I died and lost alot of stats and what of most I had made in the few hours, and honestly it just made me unmotivated to continue.

Even the gold market for it will drop because the fact that you can die, have your bank wiped off gear is stupid, no point buying gold for a game mode that will just end up being lost anyways.

 

Because its the exact same game as oldschool runescape with the added difficulty and risk.

soon people will get tired of putting in effort just to lose it, and get back to the main game.

 

I don't know tbh. If you're not a noob, the 5x xp rate gets pretty addicting. Yeah you die if you're not careful, but that's the game mode!
