40 att 50 str 42 hp, where do i go now?

    Just a few questions,

    1. If i start training my range now to say lvl 80 now, do you think i'll stand a good chance with those im pking? My stats will then be 40 att 50 str 80 range and 69 hp and at level 56. Will my stats be too shitty at level 56 for a range pure?

    2. I wish to be a 1 def pure, zerker/void ranger then slowly (and probably) be a range tank. How do i progress (in terms of training) from 40 att and 50 str? Do I train melee, range or mage first?

    Regards.

    1. One of the most important things to remember when making any kind of PKing build is how to keep your account balanced. In this case, at 80 range, you can have a combined attack and strength of 120 (1.5*range) without gaining any extra combat levels (so there's no reason NOT to get these levels). I would recommend 50 attack and 70 strength as 40 attack will get you nothing and at 60 attack your strength level will be too low. This opens up using a gmaul which can be used in a lot of combos to kill someone.

    2. Progressing from a zerker to a range tank probably wouldn't be ideal because at 99 range you can only have a combined total of 150 attack and strength levels. Most people opt for 75 attack/str as that allows them to use godswords/sotd, but having 75 attack on a zerker would most likely make your account melee based, giving you unnecessary combat levels if you choose to build into a range tank. But, transitioning from a 1 def pure to a voider/zerker would probably just involve a lot of questing/training mage for veng, and then if you choose to go for a range tank from there, you would just need to train your defence.

    Hey thanks for your reply.

    1. So are you saying that my att+str levels should always be 1.5x my range level? What if i want to be a void ranger? (I've not fully trained to 50 str yet, so i can still change my mind and cap my att, str and def at 42)

    2. Thank you. SO i most definitely should start from 1 def and progress to void/zerker and continue progressing to a range tank if i do not enjoy void/zerker. I have another question though, how is the PVE scene for voider and zerker at a cap of 45 defence? I suppose Range Tanks are easier to complete most PVE/PVM bosses as they have a high defence.

    3. I know this gets discussed a lot but I never got the answer to the following question: People always say zerker are more entertaining but could you please explain why? Zerkers mainly focus on melee and mage while range tanks focus on range/mage, what are the differences that make zerkers more ''entertaining'' over range tanks?

    Thank you for your time.

    1. Yep. The formula will always hold true (uses the higher of mage/range level). For void rangers, you should only cap your defence at 42 as you can raise your attack and strength accordingly to match your range level. For example, I know that Divide, former rank 1 BH was a voider with a 50-99-42 build with 99 range and mage (50 att + 99 str = 1.5 * 99 range/mage).

    2. Yep. But like I said before, if you end up building your zerker into something like 75 attack and 99 strength or another combination that is melee based (i.e. combined attack and strength > 150), if you transition into a range tank from there you'll have extra combat levels. At maxed levels, a 75-99-99-99-52-99 build will be 111 combat while a 75-75-99-99-52-99 build will be 102 combat. As far as PVE goes, both voiders and zerkers can kill Zulrah efficiently which is probably the only boss you'll need to kill lol. Not too sure about other popular bosses though.

    3. Zerkers are fun because they can hit extremely high (due to having access to max or near-max strength bonus) and have a TON of different combos/weapons they can use (d mace, d long, d hally, etc.) in combination with veng. Range tanks are also extremely powerful but nobody really wants to fight them because of how tanky they are and they have almost no KO potential. Fights typically involve just outsustaining the other person and hoping for a lucky dbolt spec/veng combo.

40 att 50 str 42 hp, where do i go now?

Ah i see. Just a few more questions abt zerker/range tanks/void rangers

    1. Based on the 3 above, which will i have more fun with and in terms of training and questing, which will be easier?

    2. Which are more expensive to PK (in terms of losing pk items after dying?)

    3. When people pk with full void, fire cape, and any other untradeables... is it really possible tp run back to edge and pick up the untradeables before they dissappear? I've just started agaim after a 10 year long hiatus, so im not really sure with the game mechanics yet.

    4. Do you recommend having a pk build as my first account after being away for 10 years or should i stick to just building a main? I suppose a range tank or max zerker is almost like a main anyway

    5. Again based on those 3, whose items are most expensive for end game content? I suppose range tanks are the most expensive with buying ammo, acb, dfs etc. Correct me if im wrong

    1. I haven't played a void ranger before, but I found range tanks to be the most fun because they were a viable pking build while not being limited in any other aspect of the game (namely PVM). If you're mainly interested in PKing though zerkers might be a better option. In terms of questing, zerkers definitely require the most time commitment as they need torso/bgloves/void/defender/fire cape while for the other two you only really need veng (which can be done in under 20 qp) and void. At lower levels you won't even need veng on a voider.

    2. Probably a zerker, void rangers are notorious for welfaring and you can probably get away with doing the same on a range tank.

    3. Yep. I believe you have a minute to retrieve all your untradeables. This is partly why void rangers are popular - they don't really risk anything.

    4. This is why I liked range tanks, you could do extremely well in both pvm and pvp (same probably goes for maxed zerkers). I would definitely start out with a pvp oriented build because if all else fails you can just build it into a maxed main whenever.

    5. Definitely range tanks if you consider stuff like spirit shields. If not they're still pretty expensive but so are zerkers with an ags as they can also use stuff like an acb.

    Hope this helps.
