Question-Will this ruin my pure?

Hey quick question looking for opinions

I have a 48 combat w/ 76 mage, 72 range and 45 hp. All other stats are 1. I think I wanna go strength, so would training Attack to 60 and Strength to 75 "ruin" the account, in that the combat level will be be too high at that point?

Yeah go for it melee is must have for pures IMO

 

In order for your account build to be balanced - i.e. have the highest possible stats for its combat level, you need to keep atk+str=1.5*range. In this case, training to 60 attack and 75 strength would also require 90 range. You can play around with the numbers a bit if you're unwilling to train range that high at the moment; I would actually aim for 50 attack until your account is in the mid-high combat level range.

 

This is exactly my line of thinking. I dont really quest, I dont really have the time to go for DT. Just mage/range is not as nice as I thought it would be.

Tbh, I think that you should get 80 Range if you're going for 75 Str.

That's what I would do.

 

60 attack is more fun than 50 attack. Try to go for higher range, then get like 50/75. That's a fun pure. Make sure it's quested!

 

Definitely train it up, melee on pures is great and it wouldn't ruin the account, not unless you completely unbalance the account to the point of no return.

 

Just incase you wanted another opinion, I'd definitely get it to 60 attack. That opens many more weapons to use, spec combinations, etc. I think you'd really enjoy that route

Edit: Be sure you get your hp up a fair bit tho. It's pretty low at the moment.

80 range
75 str
40 attk----will eventually bring to 60 when I'm closer to pking

One thing though--for the 9 years I've been on and off with this dumb game, I always hated quests, although I do realize they can be imperative in certain situations, my own being one of them. I assume questing skills is to keep hp down? Ive cannoned my way to 72 range, which is why my hp is so low already. Are quests really necessary for me?

Just make sure you do all the vital quests for it and you'll be fine

 

Besides the quests needed for certain gear, which I'm sure you already know about, it's only really done to make some of the initial grind easier/decrease the time actually needed to spend leveling things like attack and prayer (all of the attack quests in total bring you to something like 42 or 45 attack). All in all you'll probably end up with something like 60k combat xp from all the possible quests you can do, which is ~20k hp xp, a really negligible amount. I do agree that your HP level is really low for your combat though, I would look into chinning straight away if you can afford to.

 

If you want to last within the PvP industry then I suggest training your melee stats also.

Not many pures can deal enough damage with just Magic and Range.
