1 ppg is huge for anyone, especially with a rookie some were saying "might not handle the pressure" of the NHL. I can only see it going up a bit from here (at least if it holds up for the next couple of games), as he adjusts to playing here.

Only five of the top 10 NHL scoring leaders were point per game or higher last season. Whether or not McDavid can keep up his point per game pace is anyone's guess, but as long as he doesn't have a bad midseason slump I see no reason why he couldn't as he continues to adjust and get comfortable in the show.

I think if he continues to be promising, 60-65 points on the season will be a good number for McDavid. But some of the skill he has showcased, it's amazing.

Your guys' thoughts on 3 on 3 OT?

Personally would like to see 5 minutes of 4 on 4 before going right to 3 on 3. Atm it just feels like although exciting, there's just a bit too much space and doesn't feel like a professional game, although that could change as I get used to watching it.

I disagree. I'm not a fan of shootouts, which put the game on the line to something That isn't always telling of what happened, or has a disappointing outcome. 3 on 3 is faster, more exciting, and makes you have to be more strategic with what you're doing.

Meh, I'm impartial on 3 on 3. I appreciate it being much different, and it's fun watching how fast paced the game gets with all the open ice, but I can see how guys like Byfuglien don't like it. It literally becomes a game of speed rather than power. Guys like the Sedin's will make your life miserable in it.

Yeah, it makes sense. Although, if you have good hockey sense, you can play defensively, and even offensively, through positioning and through smart movements. You just need to know what you're doing.

Oilers were losing 3-0 to the Habs after the first period. They just came back to beat the Habs 4-3. Leon Draisaitl gets called up from the AHL, scores two huge goals. McDavid win two assists and is now 12 goals in 11 games. Him and Yak continuing their point streaks to 7 games. Unreal game. Wow.

Habs have lost four in a row now to the Oil...

I know, it's crazy. They're not just a team that's an easy win anymore. They're definitely moving up the ladder. A couple years of experience for these guys, and then add in an actual defense, and you'll have a playoff team.

What do you think for the Sabres?

Having a long-term core of young players will definitely help, I can see them improving down the line till these players hit 30ish.

O'Reilly is going off for the sabres, 10 points in last 5 games is insane. Having said that, I can't see them even having an outside shot for the playoffs this year if veterans like Gionta, Weber, Girgensons don't start picking things up.

Yeah, one player can't make the team. He needs other players to step up for secondary scoring.

Lmfao @ 97 "McJesus". I don't think it was really enough contact, it looked like his hand just tapped the goalies head a bit. Ramo's head didn't move at all, Ramo was still perfectly able to get across even after, that was a good goal.

That's what I was thinking. Ramo is at the very top of his crease and Letestu is literally outside of the crease and he briefly brushed his hand against Ramo, and it didn't appear to impede him at all.

That type of light touch contact is literally seen on basically every scramble for the puck in front of the net goal. Why the NHL insists on trying to make scoring goals harder I'm not sure (seriously, look at how year after year scoring stats get lower). Seems very counter-intuitive from a business stand point. Goals are fun to watch. More fun to watch means more people watching. More people watching means more money.

That's the thing, they're trying to encourage more goals. With the trapezoid added, along with 3on3 OT, among a couple other changes I can't remember, they're trying to promote goals. I think the message was that players need to completely avoid contact with the goalie. That, or the person in Toronto reviewing the play was drunk.

How about them bruins? They started off 0-3 but kicked it back up. I love it! I think they'll be a playoff contender.

Also, I said it last year, Dallas Stars are going far in the playoffs this year. Seguin and Benn have been (no pun intended) lighting it up.

Seguin and Benn have always been a dynamic duo. Add in a steady goaltender, and a bit more secondary scoring and you'll have a difficult team to handle.

Bruins? I don't know. They just keep trading their assets away, I don't understand what their doing. Playoff contender? Sure. Cup contender? Not in my opinion.

The woman who was suppose to speak against Kane has decided that she no longer wants to stand up against Kane. So I would have to guess that Kane paid her off or that the allegations weren't true and all charges will be dropped.

I guess we'll never know, until something is leaked a couple years down the line. I knew nothing would really come of it. He's too big of a star for Chicago to let him be brought down by something like that.
