Best and Worst ways to Breakup

My personal opinion is that if you breakup with someone the best way to do it is face to face in person. Next best option would be a phone call or Skype / Facetime where you can actually have a conversation and possibly see them. The worst option would be an E-mail, Facebook, or text message.

These opinions of mine are based on an average real relationship. So if your relationship isn't average, meaning you aren't ever actually with the other person, you never talk in person or over the phone, and the only communication between each other is text based then when this "relationship" ends IMO it would be acceptable to breakup through your only way of communication (being text based).

I'd like to get some opinions on the best ways and Worst ways a breakup can be done and how to or to not keep the person in your life. For example changing from a breakup into friends with benefits or into mortal enemies.

 

Best way is without a doubt face-to-face, it's unfair to do it any other way.
The worst way has to be getting somebody else to do it for you, imagine the embarrassment.

 

If you have to break up with someone always do it face to face. It allows for no mis-communications that can happen simply through text communication. It also shows that you respect them and the time you've spent together.

 

One of my exes broke up with me on my birthday. That wasn't exactly fun.

Best ways? Absolutely an asshole way to do it, but build up a moment that the other person is expecting to be wonderful, only for it to turn out to be a breakup

 

That would be 1 fucked up way to end it. Awkward for everyone, sounds like something most junior high or younger kids would do.

Mis Communication is huge in a breakup, especially when it's all text based, found that out while getting dumped.

That fucking sucks bro. That'd be a terrible day doing it on literally the worst possible time.

 

Definitely in person. I think a more casual method may be appropriate depending on the seriousness of the relationship though.

Best I'd agree with you - worst, text/facebook is pretty bad, but it can get even worse with slowly leading them on about what's happening, keeping them guessing and unsure. If this happens for a long time, it can be really infuriating for the other party.

 

The worst way to break up is completely ignoring your partner until they eventually get the memo.

 

Yeah it did. She was nice and I was looking forward to a good relationship, but 2 days later she was in another relationship. Turns out some hanky panky was going on behind my back. That's life.

 

I've done this and 2 months later we ended up having a college class together. She thought we were still together and that I didn't pay my phone bill. I ended up having to explain it to her 2 months later in person, so in person would be the best bet.

 

Best way to break up: ignore the person and walk away from the relationship

I chose the above because I would like to keep my sense of dignity and completely ignore the person when I need to break up with them. Never ever talk to that person again. Its easier to move on that way. Although, unselfish, its best to end relationships like this knowing that you don't need to face them and cry over it with a chance of changing your mind.

Worst way to break up is to actually do it in person and both of you agree that its not working out. This is completely opposite to what people usually would say but I think what's the worst thing that could happen is be in a relationship and know that both of you are giving up on each other. The point of a relationship is to be with that person forever as I intend mine to be. There's no point in being in a relationship for it to be a tested ground and deciding later that you're not meant to be.

 

Personally if the woman I was dating for any decent amount of time literally just stopped talking to me, unfriended me on FB, and maybe even blocked my number to avoid confrontation about this would piss me off. At least a text message tells you that it's over, when someone vanishes they just as easily could be dead in a ditch as they could be ignoring you. That option provides 0 closure to me, so I'd have to change my Worst breakup to your best being just no contact out of the blue moving on.


If you have sex with someone, look into their eyes and honestly tell them you love them and they say it to you when you're together, then can just rip that up and walk away without facing the person ever again or even have the decency to tell them it's over would ruin most people.

Some people swear by this method. Block the other on everything to cease contact. As long as they're not your next door neighbors or go to your school everythings smooth sailing from then on.

 

Worse way is over the phone or by text message, or even in some bad and seriously cringey moments, by mail. Or by doing something out of spite because it'll be easier than leaving yourself.

Best way is definitely face to face.

 

I've experienced it over text while on vacation. Definitely one of the worst ways.

 

Just tell straigth up how you feel, don't do it via text or social media
