Haha, I know Connor in rl and I have talked to him about this before - I honestly think he will get crushed unless he puts on some more weight.

Nuge was a stick when he came into the league and he did fine, although his spotlight isnt as big as mcdavids it was still huge.

I still secretly wish Edmonton would have gotten Lucic instead of the Kings. No one would dare hit McDavid when Lucic is skating around with em. Oh well, just another big mean guy in Cali to come give us a hard time lol

Or once Torres suspension is done from the Sharks, if he gets traded to the Oilers. You don't even have to provoke him, he'll just hit your head for the lols.

I don't get what Torres is trying to do. When he was with with Oilers back in the mid 2000s, he was a good, physical player and a solid 2nd/3rd line guy. Then he decides to become this scumbag headshotter. Like is he just trying to murder someone on ice or what? I hope he never plays another game in the NHL.

He's a great physical player when he's not going for the All Pro title acheivement in CoD... I'm really hoping the Sharks trade him. 13 games in 2 years, now he gets himself suspended, again >.>...

I doubt any team will sign him after this stunt unless it's for peanuts. He forfeitted $440,000 worth of salary for the 41 games he's suspended. I just really don't get his angle

I think it's just more of him not thinking: he is reckless. He just isn't thinking. The "late hit" is hardly late, but that's not the issue. Silfverberg didn't move vertically much at all, so Torres either without thinking hit him up high, or was trying to get away with a bit. Either way, I think if he gives it a year, he can get traded to another team, someone will want him.

He took a 25 ft charge straight at a guy in a meaningless preseason game. There's no way he's not trying to intentionally hurt people

Idk. In frisbee scrimmages, I know a few people who mean no harm, but they get way into it and end up flinging their elbows all over the place. I even had my jaw dislocated in a frisbee scrimmage due to someone being careless and too competitive >.<

Reckless, completely. Intentional? Not too sure, really.

The first ~1:40 discusses their reasoning behind it. When you listen it makes a bit more sense to see that it was intentional because of the "upward shoulder drive" that they were talking about

I've watched the video a solid 5 times, at least haha. The Sharks are my team, so >.<

Anyways, unless there is indisputable evidence, like an admission from Torres himself or something like that, then I believe it to be recklessness. I'm not disputing the suspension; that is completely warranted.

Anyways, back OT: kuznetsov. Do you think he'll play well centering Alex Ovechkin? Even though with the latest update it seems Backstrom will only miss a few games, how do you think he will fair?

An admission will never happen obviously, I guess we can just agree to disagree here :p

That line was lighting it up against the Isles but when a team sends out their bench players/AHL roster it's not that much to judge off of. I'll give it a few games to see but I think he'll fit in fine. Had a shaky 2014-15 season but after the all star break he really turned it on. If he can carry that momentum through and if he clicks with Ovie and Oshie, should have a good year at least until Backstrom is back (although if it is good enough, Trotz might even keep him there lol)

Didn't know the Sharks were your team. Will be interesting to see if the Thornton line or Couture line will establish themselves as the clear cut #1. I think I read somewhere you guys have Donskoi playing alongside Thornton? He's the real x factor here imo for that line, kid doesn't have any NHL experience.

I'm a fan of the Sharks, but I'm not advocating for them making the playoffs haha. I think this is the year we will see Thorton regress and Couture start to mold into a clear cut top line player. Not sure about Donskoi. They do need someone to fill that top line spot, they've have Hertl, Karlsson, Nieto, and another player I'm forgetting play on that line last season. Karlsson got hot for a short bit, but they don't really have a line that is solid for all 3 players.

Leafs sucking as usual, but that was expected so not many people that disappointed. I'm sure it will set in once the Blue Jays hype dies down in Toronto. Not that bad for me though - I've adapted to be a fan of all Canadian teams, so 7 times more likely to be as happy!!

Really bummed out about the scheduling though. Last game was Saturday, next game is Friday, 6 days apart...? Not too sure about how that was supposed to work lol.

That schedule is really weird lol 'o_O

Fan of all canadian teams? Have to be happy with the start montreal has. Price is looking real strong, so is the entire team. Pacioretty doing well with the C, Subban racking up the points. Flames are also doing pretty well it seems ^-^

Montreal is a bit iffy in terms of my fandom, it just feels dirty cheering for them as a leafs fan :p Idk, like a sharks fan pulling for the kings.

Have to admit they do look strong though. I would be cautiously optimistic about them because in past seasons they have shown that they just lack the size and grit to play postseason hockey.

Flames and nucks are also looking decent, yeah. Not too excited bout Jets/Leafs/Sens though, I think it'll take at least a few more years for them to be contenders

I think the habs and the flames have the best chance at making a postseason run. More so the habs, reason being is they have undoubtedly the best goalie in the world. Along with a pretty solid defense and an average offense, they'll do well. A couple acquisitions at the trade deadline will do them well. Flames are too young at the moment, but in a couple years they'll be danger.
