    Dieting tips while at school?

    I really want to start hitting the gym hard but this time I want to do it right. I know what I'm doing at the gym with workouts etc but I would like some help with dieting.

    I have been going to the gym for quite a while but it has been on and off as I haven't seen much progress ever. I would really like to start eating right and doing everything right this time but to be honest I don't really know how. Do I really need to pay a nutritionist to give me a meal plan or something? Or can I do it myself. If anyone could give me a helping hand that would be so much appreciated. (Note that I am in school so anything that I prepare would have to be before hand at least the night before.)

    I feel yeah dude. Have you ever heard of intermittent fasting? It's not a specific diet but more like a dieting pattern. Basically it involves fasting for shorter periods of time than traditional fasting. So in a 24-hour period, you eat all your food/meals in a 4-8 hr period and fast for the rest of the time.

    Dieting tips while at school?

    Dieting is the most important part of a weight loss program, more important than the actual gym, but both are definitely needed. When you are creating a "diet", what you want o do is create a moderate caloric restriction, being 500-1000 less kcals per day that you have been consuming to maintain. The next important advise would be make sure that no more than 30% of your daily calories are coming in the for of fat, fat does not yield the same feeling of fullness as protein.

    Portion control, smaller meals and midday snacks are key. I agree with you on the fact that you want to prepare the night before, I am a strong believer in this. Not just to fit busy lifestyles, but when people are hungry and are in a rush, they are going to eat something that is quick, and majority of the time this means unhealthy, such as fast food, processed or prepackaged foods, which are high in saturated fats, which is one thing you want to eliminate! Saturated fats increase your cholesterol, increase the amount of small low density lipoproteins, and decrease the amount of high density lipoproteins, all negative effects to the body.

    As for meals I would focus on fish or chicken as your main item, a green leafy vegetable and a whole grain. Drink plenty of water, if you think water is boring like a lot of my clients, drink seltzer water (unflavored), carbonation does a world of a difference :D

    Dieting tips while at school?

    Do what you'd normally do at home. Pack your own lunch and eat that. I know it sounds a bit lame, but it is really recommended. Just spend one day of the week and prepare a number of meals, leave them in your fridge, and pull them out that morning as you're heading out.

    For the diet, check out some youtube videos on some good food choices. "Buff Dudes" has a shopping guide for college kids on a diet, so I'd recommend giving them a look :)

    Drink a lot of water. Usually it is counted 30ml per 1kg of the body. Without enough water workouts and diets will mean nothing. Good luck!

    you should drink lots of water. atleast 1 gallon a day and you will loose weight for sure

    Drinking water will do nothing for weight loss if you are not in a caloric deficit.

    A diet doesn't necessarily mean weight loss, it's just the food you eat.

    You could be trying to gain / lose weight, diet is just the foods you eat.
