An Official Sythe Runescape Private Server

I enjoyed the old one, just don't let admins spawn shit again.

 

As I mentioned before, people are not supporting based off of "Sythe can use his time better" or "Sythe does not have the time" or "Sythe can use donations for better things".

Why does this matter to you? It's got nothing to do with any of you what Sythe does with his donations as long as the site is maintained. If he wants to make a RSPS and dedicate the time to it (paying others if he wanted to), then that's his choice. Stop basing no support simply off whether you think it's financially possibly because it's nothing to do with you. You either like the idea or you don't.

 

When you donate to a cause, Owen, you expect the donations to go towards that cause.



Now obviously, this money, once donated, is Sythe's. So he could choose to spend it on an RSPS; However, I personally would like to see the funds go to better use.
Not like you would understand though, you haven't even donated $5.

If you donate, you're keeping Sythe alive. Anymore money, he can spend it on what he wants.. Whether he does or not is a different story, that's questionable. Is it morally right to use donations that are intended to keep Sythe alive on an RSPS? I don't know, and frankly I don't care. I just feel like he should spend it on what he wants, others may disagree.

 

Probably wouldn't play,though that's because I don't play any rsps,simply can't trust them as they can fuck you over too easly

 

Sure but it would be nice if we had a dev team for it.

 

Support, based on the conditions we can get a seperate donation pool for specificly funding the rsps, and all who do get doner status on the server.
Also conditioned on whether we can gather a dedicated dev team or not for it and staff seperate from Sythe for the PS specificly (if staff want to be mods on the p server allow it).

 

It's too much to handle and worry about.

 

You guys act like creating and running a private server is rocket science when it's really not. I've played on a private server with 50+ players and the owner was literally 15 years old, server is still running to this day.

You guys are seriously underestimating the capabilities of the people that run Sythe...

If Sythe focused on getting a committed staff JUST for the PS.. It would be so profitable for Sythe as well, just like Ikov is for it's owners as well.

I support because it would be possible and fun/interesting. It would give Sythe some sort of currency.

 

People are saying this is just a waste of money? Servers make money, or nobody would make one.

People who make servers have to advertise and get their server known, look how many people use sythe, with one post it could gain so many users instantly and people wouldn't be afraid to download it because its trusted.

With the right team behind this, it could be a profitable project for sythe and an enjoyable one for its users.

To many legal issues will arise, I know the top servers are constantly getting into legal issues. Especially the size of one sythe would produce.

 

I wasn't referencing the making of one, rather the upkeep. It's easy to make, it's harder to maintain.

 

I think the making of one is the hardest part; starting a community. People struggle to get the first 30-40 players, usually after that donations pile in and people enjoy it more. Who wants to play on themselves? Barely anyone. Sythe shouldn't have this problem as there is already a community.

 

Creating a server =/= Community development
