    Babysitting Bots?
    I'm going to assume that even if I use a bot to powermine Iron while still chatting and doing like homework, the fact that an outside source is controlling my character would make me light up for banning right?

    Get looking glass/mirror mode and bot sensibly. The only way chatting will help is preventing other players from reporting you, which shouldn't be an issue if you're not an obvious level 3 or something.
