    1. Is abortion morally wrong?
    2. Should abortion be legal or illegal?

-for me ,, I see morally wrong .. I saw from the corner of Social Life that could adversely affect the other women because they easily abortion .
-Ilegal please ,,, like the previous answer if easy (legal) , teens have Free sex , without looking at the future and their responsibilities ...

The distinction for the morality of it cannot just simply be placed on the act of abortion only.

As there are circumstances where it's not considered bad behavior and some where it would be considered immoral.

    Two examples;

-Woman repeatedly has sex with multiple partners without the use of contraception. When she falls pregnant she repeatedly aborts the fetus. I'd consider her immoral and her actions to be wrong.

    However,

-Woman / girl is raped and falls pregnant through it, for her to abort that fetus I cannot say it is immoral, as it isn't. It's a consequence to the crime against her as well as the psychology of aborting.

As for legal, I think it should be legal. It is legal and doesn't require change. I would suggest far and few woman fall into the first example I listed, so it's not necessary.

I think it should stay legal, what happens when a mother doesn't want a kid and can't get an abortion? They throw them in the trash, kill them after birth and claim they are stillbirths, or they grow up in a bad situation where they are unwanted. Yes some of them make it and grow up normally, but a large majority in that situation grow up and become abusive themselves or become criminals. They grow up and heavily rely on drugs to make up for the lack of a loving upbringing. I know because I am one of those kids. Morality plays less of a role because we live in a time that lacks morals. Back in the day, you got pregnant and you started focusing your whole life toward that baby. Now its all to common for people to get pregnant and keep partying/ doing drugs during and after the pregnancy. My mom and dad left me with random homeless people up until i was 7 to go score heroin. Am I glad I wasn't aborted now that i've gotten away from them? Not really, a lot of times I would have rather just not existed.

Morally it is wrong to kill a life, but whats worse? Not letting someone have a life, or giving a kid a life of torture? Theres really no good help for those in this situation. Even child protection is horrible at their jobs. Its the womans body and if you don't want a kid then you shouldn't have a kid. People that are against abortion are quick about saying how wrong it is but shut up when they're asked to give away their money to help foster the kids who would have been aborted.

Is it mentioned somewhere in the Bible that abortion is wrong?

    Not specifically of course.

Jeremiah 1:5 and Psalm 139:13-16 both imply that God knows us and sees us as human beings before birth. Proverbs 6:17 says God hates the hands that shed innocent blood.

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee"

    Of course...

Do you make any distinction for the progress of the pregnancy? What if the fetus is just a cluster of cells with no brain activity or heartbeat?

They do abortions far past, heartbeat. They do it after the baby is formed.

    http://www.abortionfacts.com/literature/how-are-abortions-done

They literally go in there and cut the baby up.

"The child’s body is then pulled out of the birth canal except for the head which is too large to pass through the cervix. The baby is alive, and probably kicking and flailing his legs and arms. The abortionist hooks his fingers over the baby’s shoulders, holding the woman’s cervix away from the baby’s neck. He then jams blunt tipped surgical scissors into the base of the skull and spreads the tips apart to enlarge the wound.

A suction catheter is inserted into the baby’s skull and the brain is sucked out. The skull collapses and the baby’s head passes easily through the cervix."

For starters, if it's not your body, it's none of your business. If you're not in the position to have a child/simply don't want a child, and you're pregnant, it's your decision.

Lets force a mother to carry a child to term and proceed to potentially get rid of said child (adoption) and further burden the already over-burdened child-care system, or perhaps keep the child and sacrifice any ambitions she may of had to take care of a child. Well, providing she's in a position to take care of a child, it's plenty possible she cannot take care of the child whether due to monetary/mental/whatever problems.

Morality is incredibly subjective and doesn't really hold a basis for an argument. What I may perceive as morale you may not, morales vary greatly throughout the world. Provide an actual argument, not "well I just think it's wrong." WHY do you think it's wrong? I could think global warming doesn't exist all I want, that doesn't change the fact that it does.

Abortion is not the killing of a child, it is the removal of a group of cells that could potentially turn into a child. If you plant a seed of a tree and remove that seed before it has grown, you do not say you removed a tree. Same goes for a fetus, these cells have nothing, there is no consciousness, there are no memories, there are no feelings, it is quite literally a grouping of cells.

Also, a biblical argument against abortion is archaic. Who cares what old men - with no knowledge of science, or even what occurs outside of how pregnancy happens - have to say about when life is formed. If you believe a child is formed at conception, you are sadly mistaken.

I do not like your apparent demonization of teens having sex. There is nothing wrong with sex, it is natural and something nearly everybody takes a part in. Also, teen abortion rates have been steadily dropping (at least in the U.S.) due to actual sex education coming into schools and due to protective sex aka condoms and birth control; furthermore, do not act like it just teens that get abolitions. Plenty of women of all ages go and get abortions, unplanned pregnancies are not all that uncommon.

If not clear, I obviously don't think it should be illegal; furthermore, it's probably not a great discussion for many people here who are still going through puberty and don't know shit about the female reproduction system

I genuinely laughed at your post. Abortion facts is hardly the correct name for said website, more like "Right-wing fanatics and their attempt to undermine women's rights!"

Also, you're mis-representing said information, looked into a little bit more, that represents about .17% of abortions + has been deemed illegal (with exceptions) in the U.S. since 2003.

I think it's up to the woman to decide. As Smokehut mentioned above, should this be a repeated course of action due to negligence, then it's certainly immoral. However, should it be a case where a 16 year old girl ends up pregnant, even after taking precautions, or a woman was raped and ends up pregnant, why should they not be allowed to have an abortion?

But ultimately, I agree with the decision that was handed down in 1973. It should be up to the woman to make the choice she wants to make, and feels is best to make for her current and potential future conditions.

Quotes a biased anti-abortion website about abortions. Thats like trying to get real news from mostextremenews.com

In a lot of places it is illegal to have an abortion at the point your talking about and even if it is legal many doctors wont take on the operation at that point.

Alot of the "facts" on that website are in largely extreme cases that hardly ever happen and at that point if you're that pregnant and still disattached to the baby odds are they are going to kill them anyway.

Most would argue that you should only use violence against another person in self-defense. A fetus is almost always not life threatening, how can a mother justify killing it?

I see abortions being acceptable to a certain stage in the pregnancy.

A newly formed fetus is nothing but a cluster of cells. An ant is also a cluster of cells. Would there be a moral discussion whether it's okay to squish an ant?

If you're not ready, it's an easy solution.

Well, technically, any living thing is nothing but a cluster of cells. I think most people's main arguments against abortion at any stage of the pregnancy is that it has the potential to be a person. Divisions I mentioned earlier like first heartbeat/brain activity are arbitrary to them.

Prior to the heartbeat and brain development, an ant has more thinking and doing ability. I recognize that ending something with potential can be looked at as immoral.

    New Argument

Does the world really need more babies? Abortion could technically be an aspect that slows the human destruction of the earth.

I suppose the ant argument has some validity, but don't you think human life has a certain value / should be protected?

I mean this isn't a society where we take severely retarded / braindead persons and have them "aborted" because they have limited mental capacities. Abortion is simply a matter of what level of respect you have for human life.

And to everyone talking about a womans bodily "choices" I mean the government makes plenty of choices about our health.. Case in point drug use, limiting citizens to do an activity that harms only them (well not entirely true) and is their decision, and not only that but sending them to prison for it.

Doesn't that seem to be greater injustice, millions of suffering americans in prison instead of women not having "bodily integrity" in relation to a body that isn't even theirs.

Respect for human life is different in my eyes than yours I suppose. If I was ever braindead and had no other option but to sit in a hospital for the rest of my life, please do pull the plug.

I have respect for quality of life as much as life itself. Down syndrome is a different story. I've known lots of people who enjoy their lives just as much as the next guy living with down syndrome.

you look at this from the view of the rape crime, it would be legal if there is a recognition and a letter of introduction from the police, that she had been raped when / happening pregnant, asked for an abortion. it is common in all countries and will allow it. but according to religion may be different. according to the Christian religion and (other religions also argues that the permissibility of abortion)

    Answer
    from me :
you are a person who does not want to live in that situation, because of your family background. but it is the right of every human life, they live for themselves and eventually he can be useful for families or other community. your fate is in your own hands so do was give up the situation well be the best of the human ... happened a lot like your story ended badly, because they gave up because of the situation. your life is your choice

It's really frightening interesting because it covers all aspects. with the multitude of men will worsen the global warming, yes it is true because of global warming because of human activity, in terms of pemangan kondong, all countries advocated for wear due to the increase in population, I strongly agree with this, it is early sex education has been carried out in many countries ,
about "" [QUOTE = Tmoe; 15116389]I obviously do not think it should be illegal[/ QUOTE]; "" because you represent of the right of women who want an abortion, Although feminists are Often portrayed as being supporters of the right to abortion, you'll find that the feminist case can be argued very well on both sides of the issue.

In the context of women's rights the issue is Often presented not as a moral issue but as a political issue - not so much as "is abortion ethically wrong?", But as "should women be prevented from having abortions if they want them?"

There is Also a second political issue - women can not choose freely Whether or not to abort a pregnancy UNLESS Also they have the right to the Necessary support if they are to continue a pregnancy. (To put it another way: women should have the right not to be pushed towards abortion because of poverty or lack of family support.)

The 'women's rights' arguments for abortion involve; not only placing an Appropriate value on the lives and freedom of women but Also accepting that it may sometimes be permissible to sacrifice the life of a fetus.

Many of the 'women's rights' arguments against abortion claim that abortion does not improve women's overall position in society, or that abortion provides an excuse not to solve other problems faced by pregnant women.

each country is different arguments about abortion, as the condition of their country. many abortion activists wearing women's rights, but many were refused for reasons to kill.

    like you said.
This is only a cell and do not mean anything or life ..

thoroughly abortion was less pleasant to hear, there are some conditions that require abortion (abortion permitted) medical .Simply if the pregnant mother would be bad condition can even cause death, (abortion is allowed) rape victims could have an abortion but can not because it is a decision of a victim of crime, environmentally indeed worsen the lives of the many populations, of women's rights all women have the right to have an abortion but with purpose and persetujan many stakeholders including relevant government, religion virtually all do not allow abortion (should abortion but the grounds are very urgent and approved by many parties).

    New Question.

The abortion issue is largely devoted to dealing with the rights of the foetus and the mother. The rights and concerns of the father are rarely discussed.

The most common case concerning fathers and abortion is when the father wants the mother to have an abortion and she doesn't.

But sometimes the mother wants an abortion and the father wants her to have the baby. Is an abortion ever morally wrong because it transgresses the father's rights?

(if this happens pregnancies and abortions in the state of marriage, not rape.)
