Do you think darkscape will stay active?

As the title says, do you think the activity on darkscape will die out?

 

It'll probably be active in the beginning, then slowly die out.

It'll likely die down within a couple months. It seems more like a hype type of game, once the hype dies, so will the game.

 

Don't think it will survive very long.
Maybe fun at first. But will become boring and annoying ( to get pked everywhere )I think.

 

It's decline is inevitable. It really depends on what you consider "active" to be. Is 200 players on one world "active"?

 

200 players that log in every day is something I would consider "active". Will it be a popular game? Probably not but that doesn't mean the players aren't active.

I very much doubt it.

The good thing about DeadMan mode is that you have to protect your character at all costs. So you'll wear your absolute best gear to give you the absolute best chance at protecting your assets. However, this is just not the same. If you need to move point-to-point then you bank your stuff and move, if you die. So what, you've lost nothing.

It literally is what it is, an all out pvp-world. Deadman mode will far exceed it for intensity.

It'll be popular for a while, but will indefinitely die out. This type of mode is pure hype, nothing else. RS3 PvP has been nearly non-existence for years now, and it's not going to magically become more active overnight.

People can use the "well WE2 proved PvP isn't dead!" right, yet that's safe PvP, and it was also timed. Same argument goes for mini-game PvP, other any other form of safe PvP. Legitimate PK'ing in RS3 is ancient history, WB doesn't count for shit either, unless you consider going after PvE'rs and sitting at the wildy ditch watching people fight for 2 seconds and tele to protect their supplies "PK'ing."

Fact of the matter is Jagex has ignored the call for other PvP content that is already a proven concept in other games, not just PC MMO's. Namely, you have your Elo style ranking/combat arena system that has been used in SOCOM, LoL, CSGO, Elsword, and a litany of other titles. People play purely for reward now, rarely just to dick around and have fun like we used to when we were kids in junior high and high school on F2P at hill giants.

Unfortunately, again, Jagex doesn't know what the hell they're doing, and this will be dead content within weeks, maybe a few months.

 

Jagex should add a safe zone and gambling allowed to increase the feeling of a "lawless society"

In simpler terms, Darkscape will die. Darkscape was released as a surprise. Why? It's a "sandbox" for people training for deadman mode to get a feel of what it feels like.

Deadman mode is coming out soon and yes I can feel that deadman mode will definitely last longer than any rs3 game probably does. So I can say that deadman mode gold will definitely be higher than the current darkscape rates. Inb4 1:50 Deadman to osrs rates.

And as for I myself, I consider myself to be the general populace and in that sense, when deadman mode comes out, I'll fully migrate to deadman, but before that I'll ensure I've sold my wealth on darkscape, or at least 90% of it, so I can still continue "questing and Pvming" so to say at least.
