The Caffeine Thread

Just wanted to make a thread on all things caffeine.

Personally I started drinking coffee regularly about 3 years, I started of with drinking instant but have since progressed to coffee filters, coffee bags & now plunger coffee.

My favourite brand is Vittoria, especially espresso. I sometimes buy the beans fresh and grind them myself but usually just buy the powdered form straight out. I drink it black more often than white, just tastes better. I drink up to 8 cups a day of it but average about 3-4.

I find it pretty useful to drink about 0.5-1L of water before having coffee as it doesn't dehydrate you as much as gives you the full caffeine effect. If anyone else wants to share their experiences with anything caffeine related then post below.

Does seriously no one here ever drink coffee? C'mon guys I thought the Sythe community would be into this.

I drink coffee every weekday morning and usually on the weekends but nothing fancy, I'm always on the go. Thought about buying a keurig now that k cups are more affordable.

I like Columbian and other dark roasts, I occasionally put a partial stick of cinnamon in the pot as its brewing for more flavor. A Hispanic coworker turned me on to it, his wife makes him a spiced thermos of coffee every morning. Delicious.

 

I drink tea only. Started when I was a kid staying with my British grandparents drank like 3-4 cups a day ever since.

 

Don't prefer the taste of coffee.

I've been trying these out though, equivalent to about 5 cups of coffee. Sugar free.

 

A lot of coffee drinkers tell me how much they are addicted to it. For an example, one of my friends will start getting a headache if he doesn't have it at a certain time of day. Do you experience this too?

 

I was addicted to coffee last year. I would drink it light and sweet. I can't stand black coffee for the life of me.

 

No coffee just isn't for me, tea is the way forward. Tea is love, tea is life.

 

I don't drink coffee because I prefer to put tabasco sauce into my eyes if i'm unable to stay awake when needed.

No I dont drink coffee. I hate the smell of strong coffee. I don't know why.. but I think people smell weird when they drink a lot of coffee. Not that I physically/purposely smell people...

I'm more into tea and hot choco for hot beverages.
For caffiene... soft drinks work for me.. but I dont drink those regularly.

 

Interesting, I'm going to try spiced coffee this weekend.

Yeah people often tell me they can smell coffee on my, don't know why the smell is that strong though.

 

Yeah, if you absolutely need to stay awake this is what I recommend

Good for long drives overnight and stuff like that.

 

Bagged - I know it tastes a bit worse but the convenience is just too much of a lure for me

Is there a huge crash afterwards? At least from the label, it's packaged and advertised like those gimmicky "x-hour energy" you pick up at the corner store, though I've never tried one so I wouldn't know.

Not that I've noticed compared to coffee or red bull.

Its marketed kind of as a pre-workout. That doesn't matter to me, I just like the price tag and caffeine content.

 

Nothing like a delicious almond milk latte to get me nutty for the day lol

This sounds like something I really need to try then, optimal awareness for extended periods.
