Any idea how soon I can get chargebacked?

Sold an item and got paid via paypal, but I'm afraid he'll do a chargeback. How soon can it occur?

He'd have to call paypal and get it cancelled.

The question is tho : why accept paypal from someone you do not trust?

 

The majority of true fraudulent payments are reversed within 48-72h. After that, your risk is lowered considerably. There's no point worrying about it now; the trade is done. Just hope for the best.

 

Exactly. As I mentioned on your other thread, it's worth it to sell gold for lower to the big goldsellers. Sure, you take a bit of a hit, but that way you're guaranteed to get paid.

 

I took a risk with this trade, I know, but seems like I've earned 30-40$ more with it. Guess he's not gonna chargeback, unless he calls his bank to do so. Any idea how long does it take to the bank to do it?

 

I've had someone charge me back within the first 20 minutes after the trade. Paypal is a big mess for gold selling and I don't use it anymore.

 

You can get charged back in 5-10 minutes or 180 days depending on when they decide to do it (If they do). If you don't trust the user or have the means to win chargebacks for big trades just don't do them. 30-40$ extra doesn't mean anything when they take it all back.

 

You're right, I'll try to be extra cautious from now on, but paypal is the most used method to get paid:/

 

Honestly is $30-40 extra worth the stress for the next 6 months of not knowing if he'll reverse it? I don't understand why ppl risk a 100% loss for like a 15% higher price especially people who have 0 idea what a chargeback is or when it can occur. Str8 greed tbh
