Road to Max (#2)

Since my completionist caped main is no longer under my ownership I've decided to max my old alt. I've already made a lot of progress over the past half a week but I'll start keeping this updated every now and then.

Do you actually enjoy doing it? Or more so just something you want to do for sense of closure?

 

Right now I'm actually enjoying it a lot. It's been a few years since I've gained levels on Rs3 and it feels like a real achievement (albeit a very small one) compared to random xp milestones.

Even if I don't enjoy it anymore, if I'm close to maxing I'll probably finish it for the closure but it's mostly for entertainment.

 

Update:

I haven't been playing as much as the first few days but I've still made some progress. 400/1000 charm sprites hunted for the enhanced stick, all my BA bonus xp sorted, turmoil unlocked and 99 fm (when counting in quest rewards).

The next goal is dungeoneering for a charming imp for a couple of days and then BA through the whole spotlight for as many hi-score points as I can get. After that I should be starting slayer with VIP tickets & a seedicide from the thalers.

Did some c2 dg but otherwise just finished firemaking and did some BA.

 

Grats on the 99! Also, how do you manage to do it lol? I've maxed my account, and after that, I just simply cannot gather any energy to skill whatsoever :L

It's been a year and a half since I maxed/comped and I was in the same situation back then. I guess it's a mix of not having a maxed account anymore and the fact it's been so long since I've been able to actually gain levels that it feels fun again.

That said I keep trying to work efficiently on things and finding out I can't do that, like cutting ivy in prif with a scrimshaw active to get a crystal imp for that completionist cape requirement. After 15 mins of cutting ivy I realised I didn't even have the hunter level to catch a crystal imp.

 

What on earth are you talking about? literally none of that made sense to me apart from 99 fm and charming imp...

 

Writing this post 10 minutes before the daily reset guthixian cache opens as I can't do w48 yews yet.

Current stats:



So basically over the past week(?) or so I've been changing my goals a lot. I ended up getting 99 afk purely by afk training as I figured I might just go for 120 fm in the long run again anyway (I had it on my previous account purely from afk training). I then canceled my plan for the dungeoneering (I couldn't find teams after I finished my c2 floors) and didn't BA during the spotlight as I did some record attempts on Oldschool and was preparing to take part in the Dominion Tower seasonal hiscore.

I ended up sleeping in really late the day before the seasonal started which made taking part in the seasonal a bad idea so I backed out the day before. Instead of the seasonal, I focused on paying off some debts I owe from lended items that were lost on my main & general rebuild loans. I've paid back about ~35m 07 & 100m rs3 so far and have another 100m rs3 to go.

Other than that just some casual divination xp gains and not much else.

I've been generally making slow, relaxed progress but it's progress none the less.

Now that I'm 62 divination there's no reason for me to rush any higher than that for a while. I've started banking vibrant memories (level 60) for the Mahjarrat memories mini-quest which requires 7,500 of them to complete.



I've also done some more charm sprites towards the enhanced yaktwee stick requirement.



And finally I've managed to get a charming imp by leeching some floors for free from friends who needed a fill for their 2s3l teams. That will make training slayer much more enjoyable.

All distractions put aside now, I'll be spending the weekend doing 79-93 fishing (waterfall fishing is afk and will take no effort to get to 99), then probably whatever time is left I'll train thieving to get closer to dwarf traders and priff elves.



Just set my XP counters, let's see how it goes.

BXPW wasn't so great for me. I didn't feel in the mood to play much so I got to 85 fishing and stopped. Spent most of the time playing league of legends instead.

Currently working on fishing in the LRC. I'll do cavefish to 90, rocktails to 93 then elf city to 99. Could take a while.
