    Intermittent Fasting

Just wanted to know if anyone here has tried Intermittent Fasting or IF when it comes to weight loss or even building muscle and if it worked for you.

    Intermittent Fasting

i do it but its not necessary in order to lose weight, just track your macros and youll be fine.

The reason I do it is because I like to have my meals later in the day rather than early.

I have done it for a few months. If i am occupied throughout the day, it works for me.However if i am having a lazy day, fasting really kills me.I have stopped IF because of that reason.

    Intermittent Fasting

I've only done it for about two weeks during the school holidays here (the only time I could do IF properly) and I must admit I am seeing some serious results in terms of weight loss. Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced the same thing.

    Intermittent Fasting

In high school I fasted for a week with a few buddies of mine, literally only taking vitamins/protein and drinking juice drinks (juiced by us of course) and we all felt a hell of a lot cleaner, our bodies felt better, and we had a whole lot more energy. I slept great and never woke up feeling tired.

It's not good for you, I recommend against it. Do a slower, yet healthier, method of simply watching your calorie intake and keeping it low.

    Intermittent Fasting

Yes and no, NEVER use the term "keep calorie intake low". Caloric defecit should be determined by your bmr and your activity levels, "low calories" may result in health problems and soreness because of Mal nutritoon. Low calories can also lead to obesity if not done properly. Teaching your body that x amount of calories is good (low amount of calories) will adapt your body to such an intake and therefore change the interpretation of what "fullness" feels like. Going on a cheat day or a series of cheat days or even re introducing a normal caloric intake after starving yourself will automatically expand your stomach and cause weight gain. If you are interested in an article here is a link http://www.healthguidance.org/entry/3668/1/How-Starving-Your-Body-Can-Make-You-Gain-Weight.html . Hope I helped =) fitness is a hobby of mine , applying as a personal trainer part time during uni.

    Intermittent Fasting

Lot's of different opinions being thrown around so far =p

Personally I've gotten much more serious about IF in 2015 and decided not to give it a half ass effort but a real go.

As you said the results are incredible. I feel overly productive during my fasts and get so much work done my focus is really sharp during the fast. It's also amazing at teaching your body to control cravings, you develop a much better relationship with food and learn to eat because you're hungry not because you're "suppose to" or because you're "bored". Also I love having 2100+ calories to eat later in the day.

If you have any questions at all about fasting ask away. Currently taking a month and a half 'break' from it because I have a soccer season going on. However on off days I fast currently.
