You are responsible if you get hacked.

If you get hacked, you will have to pay whatever is scammed back. If not, you will remain banned. This rule applies to all users.

Yeah, I've been seeing alot of this happening lately, so I'll try to keep a safe password. Thanks Pen.

This not really your responsibility pen. It just happens now and then. Intellectually this happing every where because of hacking programs, exp- Brute force. It will take your MSN, along with some accounts you had. So, this shouldn't be a rule!

If you use a secure password, IE something like Monkeyboy5556325234234234234234234234234[only example :p] you'd have to have one hell of a cracker to brute that.

Uhm. No. It attacks the account with a list of passwords, and compiles new ones. Scientists have estimated it would take 20 full years at 100,000 passwords/sec to guess all the possible combinations. So, no.

    AWESOME.
Finally an end to the reign of hacked msn's, and people not taking responsibility for their "hackers" actions.

Thank you pen. This is just what we needed.

Yeah, I've also noticed a few people claiming it to be their 'brother' or someone hacked them after scamming. Mind adding claiming a brother or other family member/friend was on the account also is your fault to the post?

I love how this rule is made as soon as im hacked so i have to pay 20m to a guy for being hacked lol. But I still agree even though i have to pay. If you get hacked then it sucks yes but to bad.

Also msn only lets you have about 15 letter/number password. So you cant have a amazingly secure msn.

You are responsible if you get hacked.

Ya symbols and capital letters would bump the bruteforcer well into 100+ years to try to crack an msn pass. Plus msn freezes after a small amount of failed password tries. They could never bruteforce an msn password. They also can't get your pass here because the md5 hashes here are salted which makes them even harder to crack.the only real way to get hacked is to have a stupid password.

You are responsible if you get hacked.

BRUTE FORCERS DO NOT WORK FOR MSN.

Even a password with only two different characters in a random pattern is more secure than a simple word password.
    EG: nccnncnccn
Of course, my gmail password is 34 characters, all of which are random letters, numbers and symbols, so I doubt, no, I know that no brute forcer will work.

EDIT: Just a note, MD5 are a one way hash, so once it's md5, it doesn't ever come back. That's why when a site that uses md5 for passwords in a database, they are never sent back, rather a link requesting a new password is made instead.

Difference between a suggestion made by a user, and a statement made by a mod.

You are responsible if you get hacked.

How about we make it also so if you're a site moderator or official MM you will loose your status. This is kind of a good idea, but above would even be better.

AND...no one has ever been hacked, I can assure you that, it's called password cracker or simple guessing.
