    Clean up General Discussion

[1] In order for me to accept this claim that the General Discussion has gotten worse rather than better, I must first have a scale that said posts can be measured on. Worse is a relative term based on the users opinion on what qualifies as "good" and what qualifies as "bad".

[2] Staff have much more important things to do than prevent somebody from asking about other's favorite cereals. The job of a moderator is not to hinder discussion between users, it is to moderate and remove content that does not belong on the forum. If I recall correctly "General Discussion" applies to Discussion about anything in general, so those posts belong in the forum.

[3] Yes, they made a post and we upped their post count. I don't see the issue here. Unless their post is legitimately spam (i.e. "lololololololol so funny"), a valid response to the question being asked is an acceptable "post" thus upping the post count.

[4] If the threads bother you, don't open them and don't post on them. If they are on the front page, two things either happened. #1, it's either a new thread. #2, someone recently posted on it. I believe that both of these are acceptable reasons to have a thread on the first page. If it's not a good thread, it'll fall down the page eventually.

[5] This post that you made, is just as bad, if not worse quality than those you are hating on. It contains profanity and does not provide legitimate arguments supporting your claim

[1] If somebody is judging whether any user is trustworthy or not by their post count, said user deserves to be scammed.

[2] There are thousands of posts on this forum you have never even clicked open, so how would you know if it is recycled or not. If somebody posts a thread, and it is receiving replies, that is beneficial to the site and we should allow the discussion to continue, even if 5 days ago you saw a thread similar. (That thread is probably on page 5-10 and is never going to be seen or read again)

    [1] Yes, this is true.

[2] Don't assume all threads in that forum are "shit".

[1] It is obvious that content will continue resurfacing because not everybody saw the previous content.

[2] Even if the activity doesn't dwindle (it will), you have to also remember it takes the staff time and effort to close threads. People will continue posting General Discussion threads in the General Discussion section and then half will get closed down.

[1] Let me just clarify that "being here few years" = you know everything

[2] I could go into any forum and find plenty of posts that I deem "poor content" while other think it's a legit discussion. Also, stop using bad language, that ruins post content.

[1] Newfag is a relative term. To me you are a newfag because I joined prior to you.

[2] Two word replies are indeed posts aren't they? Thus you count the posts that they make.

[3] PS: Stop posting worthless posts on Feedback threads to up your postcount, newfag.

    [1] Completely agree.

[1] Not even going to say anything. I lol'd too hard.

[1] Read all the posts by nodnarbusn above. They are all essentially the same thing over and over. (he doesn't like time travel, 2-3 word answers, and doesn't know how to smoke weed efficiently) Please stop posting "poor and repetitive content".

    [1] Mootrucks for president.

[1] First off, this is completely untrue. Content posted by a user on a forum will not change based on content of another user. When have you ever tried to "keep your post" up to par with other users.

    [2] No threads brings..... Nothing.

[1] Too many commas and have no clue what you are saying. Stopped reading.

[I'm too lazy to quote all the rest of the posts because they are all the same content and I think they are all very poorly written posts. Delete every post here please]

Was a long day for me, so I'm not too sure what I was saying either. Everything you just stated is on point though.

I quoted the rules. "Which do you prefer threads" are not allowed. Read the pertinent content before writing a book dude..

Also its pretty easy to use the search button, I use it daily. Before rehashing the exact same thread use the search feature..

Staff are already cleaning it up. Progress is being made. I've made my point and everyone but you and some butthurt newfags acknowledged it in some way. I'd respond to some of the other dumb shit you posted but frankly I don't care. You preach the fact that people determine content quality subjectively and then push your ideals of no cursing on me? Fuck that, and frankly yourself.

    Also @ Mootrucks:
I don't in who you are dude, how could I be talking about you or your (highly likely) crappy thread? Don't flatter yourself, I have nothing against you personally.

tl;dr: nod doesn't understand the difference between an open ended question and a "do you prefer question". Do you prefer provides set options for the user to weigh and choose between, questions such as "What is your favorite..." is not anywhere similar to "Do you prefer A over B".

Also more cursing and "butthurt newfags". Very helpful content for the forums.

Being a condescending prick isn't very helpful content either, but that's none of my business. Obviously staff disagree with you given the fact a bunch of the threads were closed and things have been tidied up considerably. Lo and behold the section isn't dead either! Wow.

Going to go ahead and request a close and let it run its course.
