    PayPal gift payment disputed

    Hey guys, please help.

Today i sold my LoL account. A guy sent me the money as a gift. Yes, i am pretty sure it was a gift. No fees and under "Refund Amount" it said: (Partial refunds are not available for personal payments or for transactions marked as pending)

Actually he opened a claim, not dispute. Non-receipt claim saying he didn't get his item and he wants his money back.

When i click to respond this, i got 3 options:
-Issue the buyer a full refund.
-I can provide compelling evidence (ex., Tracking information for delivered goods).
-Provide proof that the buyer has already been refunded.

What should i do? I believe PayPal doesn't 'support' virtual goods, so should i just say it was for a LoL account/virtual goods. That way they will close it and leave me the money?

Can try. Anyways, all payments made via paypal can get disputed, regardless of how it was submitted. Gifts, family friends, all of that.

Starting of July 1 or something like that, Paypal supports virtual goods. So saying it's a virtual good wouldn't change much unless you can show prove you deliver the product.

You are not supposed to be able to open a non receipt dispute for a gift payment. He must not have sent it to you as a gift.

Is there a way to check what type of payment it was, goods/service or gift? I can take a screenshot of the transaction if you think you will be able to tell that from it?

that's even worse. You're giving him a chance to file it as unauthorised payment.

If he disputed it saying the item was not delivered, he sent it as a payment, not a gift. Gifts can only be charged back as unauthorized payments.

In either regard. Show proof that you have him the league account. Skype chat logs, proof of him saying he has it, proof that is his PayPal, etc. the more proof you can provide, the better

He already filled a non-receipt claim so i guess he can't change it to unauthorized now?

Also, help me understand something. If he sent me money as gift, how is he able to open a non-receipt claim? Cause when you send as gift, there is no item to be sent anywhere.

Here is the link to the same case - https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Disputes-and-claims/gift-payment-dispute/td-p/689547

    Also, this one - https://www.paypal-community.com/t5...e-been-scammed-please-help/m-p/989231#U989231

That women from PayPal said they don't cover intangible items. So isn't LoL account the same? Can't i just say he bought an account from me and than they will close it and give me back my money since they don't cover that?

Edit: here is the transaction. it's a gift right?

So i contacted PayPal through email and this is the answer i got:

"After reviewing your PayPal account I can confirm that this claim is eligible as the buyer completed a payment for a service same day you have refunded him. Therefore you have to provide proof postage and tracking information. If the purchase is related to a service you need to provide proof you have delivered the service."

What is this, can they do this lol? So just because someone sent you money with a gods/service payment before, a gift payment is eligible for a claim?
