Thoughts on Azir

(Azir is my favorite champ I ranked top 50 with him in NA)

He took a pretty big hit by removing his knockup. Also he does not receive attack speed by building CDR. I have been considering some different build paths but cannot decide what is best.

Nashors Tooth - You need the attack speed now + 20 % cdr along with scaling cdr glyphs and 5% at masteries to put you at 40%.. My problem with this build is you do not get the mana regen you would normally from Morellonomicon for spamming.

Morellonomicon & Nashors Tooth - Cut the scaling CDR glyphs, those two put you at 40 %. Use the Attack speed mastery with this route rather than the CDR, obviously. Gives you the mana regen, CDR, and attack speed you need but costs a lot for those two items combined and when I use that build I usually notice that my damage is reduced early because of delayed power spike items.

I am currently doing Morellonomicon first like usual. Next I buy NLR item / void. Then I get the Nashors later on but I am thinking that the lack of att speed and other 20 % could be hurting DPS also.

Thoughts?

 

I think he's trash tier now and numerous pros have also said the same about him. They took away his shield and his knock up. He can't really go in anymore, he lost a lot of his outplay potential as well.

 

Yeah his build path isn't that strong if you go for a nashor's tooth. I feel like the nerfs have put him in a position where he has to focus more on zoning/poking with W rather than going and making a strong play to catch someone out with his all in + ult.

 

I dont like him, i feel like his clones are janky

 

I always ban Azir a good Azir will rape your entire team.

Legitimately so funny how people see one negative change to a champion and assume he's useless. Still amazing, but his playmaking ability is slightly reduced. Lmao at the "sucks now man...didn't you see he got nerfed?"

 

That has more with the enemy team not doing a good job of containing him and I feel that's more on the enemies lack of ability, rather than Azir's ability. His zoning potential is still stupid that he can W > Q in lane phase for free poke and it costs an insignificant amount of mana. But his team fight potential has changed slightly and he was always a high risk high reward champ in that regard. I feel like the reward has dropped to where he's not as forgiving and he's less likely to be picked because of that.


EDIT: Also, if some1 is good with Urgot they can also rape your entire team. So what's your argument?

 

Urgot doesnt have an escape and a wall that doesn't let them get close to u.

 

I dont believe he has enough range for an AP champion

 

I agree his engage and playmaking ability was wrecked. He is still really good for poking / zoning off objectives. Although I believe some champions do that job equally as good if not better (ziggs, xerath)
