Rare Names

Do you think there is a market for rare League of Legends names?

 

Yeah, I like to buy names once in a while myself.

 

Yeah but I highly doubt so, nowadays, even pro players and challengers like to troll display names like "HowIspend13900IP" and so on, so rare names for LoL? Highly unlikely. And even if these rare names do get sold, I doubt you'll get more than 10 bucks on an average name.

 

There is a market for LoL names however it is a lot smaller than you'd expect and names don't carry the same value that they would if they were rs or xbl

 

It's very rare that you'll find a name worth more than the transferring.

 

Names in LoL are not worth as much as the ones in Runescape. And about your question, there is a LoL market but not much people sell them.

 

I personally would pay a decent price for a really good name so i think so but it has to be game related or i personally wouldn't see a point

 

The market for League of Legends' names won't ever be at scale similar to other games such as RuneScape, for example.

There are several regions where the same name can be available, and the same name can also be created using special characters, ie; ç instead of c. This complicates the possibility of a market arising beyond that of currently existing.

This doesn't change the fact that some names can be worth a lot to some people. I've seen real life names sell for a lot simply because the person looking for it happens to have that name.

 

Just my input -- I have been selling League Summoner names for awhile and there are people who have spent quite a bit on names. Won't disclose any names but a few of my better ones have sold for $300 and higher. Really depends on if a name has personal significance with someone or if it sounds cool to them.

The amount of people selling names is pretty low though. Just about all of the good names are active. Also it's not really worth it to sell a name for less than 20-30 because of name change costs.

 

I would buy champion names for like $50 but doubt people would sell for that.

 

I registered a nice nick already, and my friend has Emily, which could be worth like 15-20 just for the name, but it has no real business unfortunately

 

you can create semi rare profanity names , like mine is "Save the Boobies".

 

That's not rare at all....rarity of league names is basically the same as runescape names. Short, common words are the most rare ones.

 

LOL "Save the boobies"... I have the name "League", surely worth something to the right person.

 

There is not really. I've never seen anyone successfully doing this kind of service.

 

There are quite a few of these services around...you clearly haven't looked at the league section on here at all lol.

Not saying it's as big as the runescape name market, but it certainly does exist.

 

I don't think it will happen because names is far from people's concern on the game.

 

you could say the same for runescape too, yet the rs name market is thriving
