Autobumping

Just had an idea so I'll explain my reasoning; wondering what you guys think. I personally think it would be helpful in various ways.

I haven't been on Sythe for a while but last I checked the bump rule was something like one bump every 8 hours. However, people bypassed this rule, at least in the market section, by making useless replies to customers and sometimes outright broke the rule. Then the people who had workers would always get more bumps, because they could have them constantly bumped 24 hours a day. The people that do not use these tactics are at a disadvantage.

If we have an "auto-bump" feature, I think it would bring a fair amount of exposure to all threads, at least in the market, taking out all the biases.

Some ways it could work:

• By visiting the thread daily it's marked as "active" and autobump is activated
• Setting correct store hours/hours you're on will auto-bump during those hours
• You receive a set number of auto-bumps per month and can schedule them

I don't know, wouldn't it be more fair and better for everyone? We can even make it post "Bump" like normal so people know when it was bumped specifically, if that's a concern.

 

Was going to disagree due to the fact that I thought this wouldn't really change anything, as all threads would be bumped and therefore it wouldn't work well.

However, after reading you points, I completely agree.

 

Bigger business = more presense. That's how the market works. If a thread has multiple workers to bump on the dot and is constantly answering customer posts, it's because they have a large amount of service. Therefore, they're going to get the greater market exposure for their efforts. This is how a free market works, which we employ on Sythe.
