How much longer can RS survive?

just like anything else. as long as it remains profitable jagex will continue to fund the servers

 

But when is the point when nobody is playing/paying for it?

 

I think at some point 07 developers and community will have to make a decision, either the game stays uncomely for new players, or they change things up in order to attract new people.HD graphics, more end game content, perhaps less grinding would make a game more attracting.Basically majority of 07 players are veterans driven by nostalgia, which is obviously not good for long term.

That being said, without some drastic changes 07 should stay there for 3-5 maybe 7 years.Not sure about rs3 though.

 

I have no idea, but I am scared of the day where runescape doesn't exist.

 

Pfft... a month the way these servers were acting yesterday...

 

My runescape career as a player ended with the Eoc update. I came back to make money as a dice host and staking. Once Dragondyce failed i joined Max mains. When they removed Commission staking i left for good. Runescape has been declining for years. Every terrible update has slowly killed the game. I never understood why runescape didnt embrace the gambling side of their game. Gambling was the main attraction for thousands of players. They never had to publicly accept the gambling and rwting. Easily could have kept up the bans and just happily accepted their games popularity. However jagex and mods ego's got in the way and slowly destroyed the game. They destroyed runescape so badly they were forced to reboot the 2007 version. When will jagex realize they need to accept rwting and gambling for runescapes over all survival...

The survival of the game doesnt depend on overall players anymore but total profits made. With bringing in wheel of fortune or whatever its called jagex profits soared.

 

3-5 years... I just can't see rs staying relevant for much longer than that, with little to no new players joining the game.

 

It should survive a good 5+ years hopefully, the game still has a lot of players playing it I don't see it dying anytime soon. Gf your Sythe account though, your already banned lol.

 

I remember seeing a post 5 years ago about this, and the prediction then was also 5 years..

Runescape has the potential to last a really long time but the player base continues to decline and there's nothing changing that I think.

 

As long as people are addicted, so basically forever
