How much longer can RS survive?

How much longer do you think both games, rs3 and 07, will survive? 5 years? 10 years?

 

Hard to say. In terms of popularity, RuneScape is not doing terribly.

I'd say RS will survive at least 5 years more.

Basically Rs will survive as long as Jagex can maintain their updates and technology follow ups...

its not RS that will last, its the Gamers increasing around the world and the new youth that will keep this market increasing and growing more powerful.

But won't people eventually get bored of it? even if Jagex is on their A game at all times ( which they usually aren't).

 

Around 2005 people said rs would be dead by 2010. At 2010, nobody thought rs would be still around in 2015.
I give it till 2020 Kappa. But yeah, I really don't see it surviving past 2020 without changes to bring in new players. At the moment, it's really only people who have played rs for a while that still play.

That is inevitable lmao. They don't listen. We say no EOC, they put in EOC.

 

Everyone keeps saying 5 years, but it could easily be dead in 1-2 years, or last 10+ years, it all depends on the types of updates brought out by the team at jagex and what they can do to keep players interested (especially with the growing competition from games like LoL and Dota)

 

if they do something wierd and new like the EOC update.. RS will die instantly

I'm pretty sure they're not that stupid, after seeing their playerbase drop insanely from that update, they're gonna make sure they have community support before they do anything.

 

They didn't have the community support in the first place, but they did it anyways. I believe rs3 will die faster than 07

 

They need to get new players into 2007 Runescape. Maybe market it as a seperate new game, and not "old school game," idk.

 

There needs to be new technology and new endgame content as time goes on. In 5 years there will be so many maxed account with nothing to do.
