Negative Paypal Balance

How long can u have a negative balance before they actually do something serious about it (i'm not talking about calling you).

 

One of my friend had it for like a year or so.I am not sure what amount that was, but paypal did nothing.i think they just closed account, 4 year has passed, still nothing happened.However if you have a huge negative, paypal may take some actions to get it back.

 

Never heard of this since I don't use PP much. How can you have a negative balance and is there a limit? Seems like a huge loophole...

 

Well it depends, if you have a linked bank account than it is possible that they ask the bank for information. than you will recieve an letter from paypal with your debts.

if your account is not linked to any information that can lead to you. than they probably can't do something...

 

If you have placeholder info in PayPal, where it's not your actual info/verified, there isn't much they can do to get ahold of you to pay the balance so that might be part of it.

Kinda surprised though that he hasn't been contacted.

 

I am currently -39 from someone charging back while my paypal was linked.
However i have gotten a few letters in a mail but not sure if they do anything about it.
I don't feel like its my problem that some guy decided to be a total ass an chargeback even though we had a legitimate trade.
