Asshole Landlord

I have been renting a room from my manager for nearly half a year now and about a week ago another dude I know moved in with me so we could rent the place together because the owner was moving to another house with his fiancé. So we have been moving utilities and everything over to me and my new room mates names. I asked the landlord 2 days ago to let me know when we would be able to disconnect internet so I could get it reconnected in my name the same day and he said he had no idea. So just a few hours ago he comes over to the house to pick up the rent check and says internet is getting disconnected tomorrow and he is taking the modem now.

I'm not pissed about him taking the modem or anything I can go a few days without internet. It's just that the asshole refused to talk to me ahead of time and waited till after hours and couldn't even shoot me a text that he was doing it. So I called the internet company a few seconds after he told me because it was already after 8 pm and they can't come out till the 4th to hook it up again. The inconsiderate ass ignored my 1 request to let me know ahead of time and came at the end of the day just to take away the modem and inform us there will be no Internet starting tomorrow without warning.

I already bought a router a week ago and it's kick ass but just just an expensive paper weight till they can come out awssnd get me hooked up and a new modem plugged in. Just wanted tot bitch anit. Thanks :love: sorry about any mistakes, I'm using my phone because I have no internet.

Not telling you that he was coming to disconnect the internet and take the modem was inconsiderate, but I don't know how that makes him an asshole...

 

That sucks man, I hope you got movies/ tv shows to watch to make the time go fast.

You can always go to Starbucks or McDonald's if you need internet asap.

 

I do call him an asshole yes. Because 2 days before he showed up to collect the rent i asked him when we'd switch of gas and Internet to me he said we'd do gas that day and Internet he had no idea but td be awhile. so i could avoid my internet being down. and as he was leaving with the rent money in hand saying that it's getting disconnected and hes taking the modem. Of course I cost is his internet that he gets free from working at the internet company but the heads up that I asked for would have been nice. At least tomorrow afternoon I'll have iast hooked up again.

 

It's unfortunate but, cmon, things could've been way worse. I've heard some horror stories about landlords. This isn't too bad.

lol I wouldn't really consider him an asshole. My dad is a landlord and for him its quite hard since the tenents don't pay on time and they bug my father. Youhave to look things at different perspectives bro.

 

I've lived with the guy for the last 6 months, he just moved out in with his fiance. All I ask is a little consideration. Just got everything hooked up again. It's not a huge deal but it was just a dick move.

 

Inconvenience? Yes.

Lol landlords are busy bro, they aren't really too worried about their tennants as long as they're paying rent.

Weather its parents, landlords or the council, they all want one thing from you realistically.

 

Landlords could do a lot worse than this. Unless you have a lease with a special internet and appliance clause in it then you can't really do anything about it except for contact the cable company.
