Sythe Logo Concept

It seems you were to focused on what to style the "S" in Sythe, that you forgot what you were making the logo for. What was the thought process behind this? What symbol or meaning were you trying to convey by turning the "S" on the side, and would this symbol represent the website in a whole? These are some things I'd think about for logo designs, as they're much more than just nice looking pictures; they should represent whatever you're trying to brand. I'd like to see more of a thought process on how you got to that final logo concept, rather than just showing a picture of a final concept, as logos are different than signatures or thread designs. The "ythe" typography on the design next to the "S" seems a bit too forced, and makes the whole concept seem off balance, if you wanted to incorporate the logo with the letters in "Sythe", I'd think of a way you could incorporate all the letters together, instead of adding too much emphasis to one letter. imo the S is hella overpowering. other than that v2 is pretty nice

 

Too much emphasis on the S and it's hard to even tell that it's an s

 

's' looks too big IMO.

 

Very... Strange. I mean, it's not bad, but to me it seems a little off balance. The effects are good on the S itself, but there seems to be no real element to the logo other than the big S. Which is far too big. Bring the size down and experiment a little more with it and see what you get.
