[Hearthstone] Mage Arena 12 Wins!

Today was an especially great day for me. After just coming off an 11-3 Shaman arena, I was somewhat upset as I felt the deck really deserved 12 wins with how well it had performed.
As a result, I decided to draft up another arena and chose the Mage as my noble champion.

All the while I was doing this, I was able to find a way to purchase the Naxxramas adventure, but had to wait for the funds I added to process. I decided to pass this time by playing another arena and I could not be more happy I decided to do so.

Having not drafted a fireball, flamestrike, or any legendaries, I was somewhat held back with how well this deck would do. Looking at all of the synergy I had in this deck (especially for secrets), I felt I might be able to squeeze out 7 or 8 wins if I was lucky. To my surprise, I began this arena 8-0! I was starting to second guess myself, but then again, I hadn't really thought about how lucky I would be with the Flamewaker (killing Stranglethorn Tiger while stealthed???) or mech combos.

After 8-0, my deck seemed to hit a brick wall, and my score had swiftly changed to 8-2 (the game for second loss was due to the opponent top-decking a polymorph and saving themself, as I was then 1-off lethal with only 2 life left and failed to top-deck any damage myself). I was confused at this point, but carried on and finished strong with a 12-2 record.

I am very excited to finally share this accomplishment with others, and surprising enough (if you didn't see the pictures), I got my second ever legendary from one of the packs as well (although I don't foresee myself ever using it, lol). ^_^

Now it's time to play the Naxxramas adventure and create some decks to climb the ladder! :laugh:

Nice draft. Mad scientist/kirin tor mage/2x mirror entity must have resulted in some good plays. Flamewaker probably kicked ass with so many frostbolts.

 

That looks like a decent mage deck. Only lacking flamestrike, blizzard and/or nova. No SS of the reward?

Holy moly, congratulations! I usually hate facing mages in arena personally, but its a good way to get a good result in arena if you draft good (like you did) I've reached 9 wins (druid) at my highest so I still have a little way to go

 

It's been a crazy last week or two for me. My best arena key ever was 6, so I started doing things so I'd be able to play arena a lot more and achieve the dream. I had a deck that went 8 wins, two 7, another 8, one 10, one 11, and now one 12. All I've done is kept trying and I still don't know how I got so lucky to earn 12 wins with this deck. Yes, it had a lot of synergy and was very powerful, but missing some specific cards I was quite surprised.
