Regarding mirror clients

IS ABLE TO, but they don't use the system that you're referring to for that purpose, so your argument is invalid.

 

In my previous post I already mentioned the issue of that system not even being used for the purpose of detecting third party clients. The original post says 'the RS client does not have any system that detects clients' which suggests that there is no system even capable of doing so, whether it is being used or not, which is why I even bothered mentioning it.

 

Would someone who actually knows what they're talking about (e.g. Knows detailed information about how a mirror client works) explain to me what a mirror client is, how it works, and why it supposedly reduces ban rates.

 

Mirror client = reflection

I'm sure you're familiar with the difference in reflection vs injection clients. But I'll briefly explain anyway for other people.

Injection modifies the game code, making it inherently detectable. Whether or not Jagex is looking at that is another story, but if they decided to they'd be able to.

Reflection does not involve modifying code (Or at least minimal code) and Jagex will not have the option to detect the bot in that way.

'Mirror client' (also referred to as Looking glass) = RS in browser, bot seperate (frame)
Default client = RS + bot in same frame

It doesn't reduce bans, anyone that does say so has no idea what he's talking about.

 

Not to sound rude or bias, but myself ontop of many have gained good results with mirror clients. I mean don't get me wrong there are amazing bots out there that don't require such, but they are more higher ban rate.

 

There are no advantages to a mirror client.
You are only wasting valuable CPU if you actually use a mirror client.

 

If someone on tribot is telling you to use mirror client to reduce bans, that would mean the tribot client is detected.

Since TrileZ says the tribot client is undetectable, that means the mirror client is horseshit and useless.

It's smoke and mirrors to make people pay more and it's really disgusting.

Isn't "IS ABLE TO" the reason you added reflection to TBot and claimed that it was less detectable? I'm sorry but you are just as bad as the rest of them.

 

TRiBot never made users pay more just to beta test looking glass. The pricing has always stayed the same, and it is not even listed as a feature, yet. I must not be seeing it the way you see it, but as far as I know, TRiLeZ intentions isn't to trick his users. Maldesto, however.. I've seen numerous times on sythe preaching OSBOT mirror client, and how it lowers ban rates with no actual evidence.

From my testing from the past 1-2 weeks, it's been working great for me. It could possibly be the placebo effect, or it actually helps. Edit:I'm also trying it on a new method, so I can't really compare it to anything else.

EVEN if it's useless right now, what happens if Jagex attempts client detection? It doesn't hurt to have a head start. Most of us know what happened to PB in the past, wouldn't want that to happen again. Please note, this verison of the client is entirely optional. Honestly, this sounds something towards OSBot, because there's literally only two clients I know of that has a "mirror client", and the only one that actually advertises it officially is OSBot.

To use looking glass you have to be VIP Extended so you do have to pay extra to use it.

I just used tribot as an example and you're right, it was much more geared towards Maldesto who claims it reduces ban rates tremendously =|

 

So explain to me how this is different than what RiD does, or different than what Simba does without the SMART client.

I'm just trying to gain a further understanding of the differences.

 

RID, is that even a thing anymore? I thought they just kept telling their users 'we'll release it soon'. I have no idea about Simba though, when I used that they had a color bot that didn't attach to the client. I believe they now have their own reflection client, don't quote me on that though.

It can be debated whether or not Jagex bases any bans off of detecting clients. They say they aren't, so its probably a non-issue. But Jagex aren't really known for sticking to their word, so excuse me if I prefer not obviously displaying to Jagex what client I'm using.

My description was accurate. If you think the only point of reflection is to have 2 windows open you've clearly missed the point.

RiD is/was color based, so essentially the same benefit. You're running the bot on top of an official client, so Jagex isn't able to detect based on the client you're running.

Same goes for Simba/Smart, it uses reflection.

 

So it's basically color/reflection without loading RS into a custom client? Is it possible to do other methods, such as Injection or OGL/DX interception in much the same way?
