New currency

To my knowledge, they use an integer variable for storing all numerical values. The maximum number for an integer variable is 2,147,483,647.

If they were to use an unsigned integer variable instead, they could make a new maximum of 4,294,967,295. However, given the length of time they've used an integer, they most likely don't wish to make an updates as a result of nostalgia. Alternatively, increasing the maximum may create a greater security risk for people who are able to procure duping methods.

I'm sure there are multiple reasons, but to answer your question, they could update it if they wanted to.

 

Yeah it doesn't look too bad, and a dollar bill? Haha I wish they brought in some kind of real currency for it, would be nice!

Usually this crashes really expensive items such as ely/3rd age long/3a cloack. It shouldn't affect GWD items too much.

I agree with this. I think only items with high value will be affected.

 

Because 2,147,483,647 is the highest number that 32-bit Java can handle

 

I really like it, obviously makes it a little easier to rwt now but still, great update.

Definitely a good update for rich stakers, not so much for your average Runescape player.

 

any average player can become a rich staker

 

I would think it would have the opposite effect , more supply without an increase in demand = price drops.

 

This can't be good for the economy.

 

Gold is at an all time low, so I would agree.
