$5 to the first reply

It is not a giveaway.

The title is "$5 to the first reply", as it's in the dicing competitions section of the forums, I assumed people would automatically understand that it is a $5 bet, and not a giveaway. I didn't feel the need to put the word bet in the title, because of the section the thread was created in.

I didn't put FREE or GIVEAWAY in the title, therefore voiding any possibility of it being a giveaway. It stands clear to me that if you are doing a giveaway, or giving something away for free, YOU PUT THIS IN THE TITLE.

As have EVERYONE ELSE who has been doing giveaways or giving something away through the form of a roll.

Again "5$ to the first reply" makes no sense. By that standard, Soren never bet you, then Zogre would have. So Soren owes you nothing, and out of technicality by your logic, Zogre has yet to roll.

That being said, it's not even clear that this is a bet. While yes it doesn't say giveaway, it does not say "wager" or "bet". Soren, like many others, was confused and didn't really know what you were after, so just yolo rolled not understanding your intentions. You need to CLEARLY spell out what you're doing, otherwise no one has any idea.

 

You fail to see the big picture.

There was no GIVEAWAY or FREE in the title, therefore leaving the only possibility of the thread to be that of a bet. We are in a section where you BET MONEY against other people, there is no room for people who automatically assume things and "YOLO" at other peoples' expenses. It makes no sense.

 

It doesn't matter if its in the dicing competition page, look at the other topics, plenty of them are free giveaways. It's your own fault for making an unclear topic.

 

Also, by your logic your topic doesn't say "Dicing" on it, all the other betting threads say "Dicing" on it.

It's best to make it clear that this is a bet. While somewhat unrelated yet in my opinion applicable, you'll often see in swapping ccs "5M 07 to [name here]" meaning that the rank is giving 5m 07 to that person. In my eyes, along with many other, it looks like you're offering 5$ to the first reply.

You may want to take a step back and look at the big picture as well. When the large majority of people disagree and mistake this for a giveaway, chances are your view may be wrong.

 

I generally thought it was giveaway.
I had just replied as I thought I would win the money and that he put the dice code in for no reason but just just for the hell of it.
Many where confused including me therefore I feel you shouldnt be paid the money.
