    Online Personal Training?

Please read the entire thread before posting :p

How much would you be willing to spend on online personal training?

Would you pay monthly or do you only expect to pay once?

What do you expect to get out of it (how much attention, results, time, etc)

What factors would up the value for you?
    - Lot's of posts in the health & fitness section?
    - Amazing physique pictures?
    - Certification in real life?
    - Instagram/YouTube fame?
    - Claiming to have a better way of doing it?
    - ... anything you can think of

I would like to know what you all would be willing to pay in a forum setting for something like this. (No this does not mean I will be doing this on Sythe but I highly value your opinions and i'm dying to know what you guys think about this)

Thanks a ton to everyone who replies i <3 you

    Online Personal Training?

Is there really a market for online personal trainers? One of the main benefits of a personal trainer, in my opinion, is the physical presence of one next to you while you're working out. I think you'd have better luck through developing a strong social media presence, posting video tutorials on youtube, and marketing a premium guide or your fitness expertise there.

Hello, I am a qualified PT by degree but it is not my occupation.

"How much would you be willing to spend on online personal training?"
This will be relative to your competitors prices (other PT's) - regardless of how much someone else would be "willing" to spend, taking into consideration that you need to make a living and earn from this too. Some calculations & whatnot should be involved, I would recommend going to a local gym and inquiring about some of the prices there for a personal trainer.

Would you pay monthly or do you only expect to pay once?
Most pay per session to start - thereafter once they are happy with progress/results, progress the client to monthly. It's building a relationship with the client on somewhat of a trust level, they are trusting you with their health/body/lifestyle etc.

What do you expect to get out of it (how much attention, results, time, etc)
This will vary from person to person obviously when you do your analysis on them, what goals they wish to achieve etc. This could affect costs (some people require A LOT more attention that others, IE: people with disabilities, health ailments).

What factors would up the value for you?
Practice what you preach - basically look & be the way they want to look/be.
Certification helps, results & evidence of prior achievements/progress work much better (a portfolio, good way to start would be to give free 30 day sessions & track those, ask friends who are interested if they would like to try - tell them what it would normally be valued at).
Social media is important too, the more followers you have the more authentic you will appear.
    Professionalism
    Enthusiasm
General show of interest to the client - more about the health than the wealth. (Kind of why we are in this profession :D)

To put a figure on it, granted you have a half decent reputation and look the part I would start at:

    25-40$ per session

200$ per month, 3 sessions a week maybe? (you can play around with packages to make it more affordable for clients to take up a package rather)

In any kind of business , you have to first earn your name, but first you have to have sometthing different from other people.Personally the most valuable aspect of a trainer is his knowledge and expierence.I think in this case, having certificates, diploma helps alot.

The thing to consider is, what training specialization are you going to go with. There are lots of options to choose from, but i think only being the best at your thing, gives you the best shot to succeed.

    I appreciate this response.

I'm not necessarily thinking of a concept that involves 'sessions' per say. Rather a workout program, meal planning, and than weekly chats on Skype to asses and adjust whats going on. By that I mean discussing at the end of each week how each workout felt, how the 'diet' felt, how everything felt. I answer some questions, adjust what needs to be adjusted and give some advice in a once per week Skype chat.

So pretty much a package would consist of a custom workout plan, meal plan, and than weekly follow ups on that plan.

I'm assuming you (and other potential clients) would pay more if...

    - I was famous/semi-famous on social media
    - Had an elite level physique
    - Had a portfolio of transformations and testimonials
(any other factors you can think of?)

This is sort of what I was planning. To build a presence on all social media, have an elite level physique and a different sort of approach. I would on my website have set packages (ebooks) worth between $39-99. fat loss, tailored to women, building muscle, sports training, a cookbook, and a getting shredded guide. So basically a collection of about 10 or so ebooks that one can just buy and use right away. But for those looking for that personal touch i'd offer a customized workout plan for maybe $79-249, same with a customized meal plan. Finally for those that want the full shabang they get it all (2 ebooks of their choice, customized meal and workout plans, and the weekly follow ups on Skype for about $249+ per month.

That is about similar to other trainers out there. I notice some force you to buy a minimum of 3-6 months which is in the $1000's.
