Competitive skills placements is a joke

Currently 7-4 in my placements since I only downloaded like 5 days ago.

Getting 20 hour restrictions every couple of wins.

What is the point lol?

Takes so god damn long to finish them

 

Its pretty ridiculous, they do it to slow down hackers and smurfs but in reality all they do is discourage new players and cause an unneccesary amount of annoyance. They even made it so you have to get Rank 3 in some stupid new ranking system to play competitive

 

Yea thank god I managed to get to level 3 before that was implemented like 2 days ago lol.

The exp from deathmatch etc is absolutely terrible...

 

Could not agree with you more. I get the point of why it is there, but holy shit it takes forever to get ranked now.

 

i stopped playing due to that level 3 bullshit, i need 4700 exp to level to 3 and i'm getting 97 exp a game, thats pretty much 47 non mm games i have to play in order to get back into comps.. fuck that... i have over 1k hours and over 500 WINS i don't need to play non mm...

 

Thats pretty much my exact situation, fucking value trying to push their shitty missions on people by forcing them to get a rank on some worthless system, and making the free way take 10+ hours

Same problem here. 97-100xp per deathmatch, or 140 per casual and like what, 2500xp for level 2->3? No thanks Valve.

Not to mention how boring non-MM is, with all the trashy silvers

 

The level 3 thing is totally bogus. I'm a LEM with almost 800 wins, close to 3k hours played, easily 1500+ games played, and I can't play MM due to some new arbitrary system? Seriously valve, get your shit together. This is asinine.

 

And I believe the fastest way to level up is through comp games. At least in my experience that's where I get the most exp. I guess this is them forcing people to try out more than just comp and try out the new maps or other modes. The problem here is force. I actually thought the update was for people to hit Silver 3 first, so I wondered how people would rank up if they can't play comp. I thought nothing more of it till I read this.

If a cheater gets reported 6 times within 24 hours their demos get submitted to overwatch. The reports they receive while getting rank 3 count towards the 6 reports so most of them will get banned during their early placement matches cause it takes 8-24 hours to get convicted.

The placement cooldowns and rank 3 requirement vastly reduce the amount of cheaters in mm. At global elite I've only played against 1 cheater in my last 8 matches and he was banned within ~20 hours. If you've played the game for as long as I have you would be grateful cause there used to be cheaters almost every other game. It may be annoying but once you get your rank the game is far more enjoyable than it used to be.
