Posting this thread because there has been a disturbing amount of notable members who have had their Sythe accounts hacked and people using those accounts to scam. It honestly seems like it's one every week and its fucking absurd.

I also haven't seen much being done about it by upper staff such as this.

But I don't think that the only explanation for all these people getting hacked is a database leak from other sources. Nor do I think people are getting mass-keylogged or whatever since a. I haven't heard of this being detected as the issue and b. Most people don't have to log into their account every day. Correct me if I'm wrong. In addition, ex-mods, some of which I suspect have not logged in for a long time have gotten their accounts hacked. I think Sythe should look into their own pword database to make sure its not leaked..and inform us if it is. Either way, I think people should be prompted and forced to change their passwords as a preventative measure. There have simply been too many hackings. It is heavily detrimental to the market when you can't trust a highly regarded member not because he doesn't have any rep, but because he may be hacked.

I for one was not a member of the sites that had databases leaked nor was I keylogged, so an insight into how my login details were obtained, and left unchanged whilst the scam took place would be lovely to know, as it cost me money out of my own pocket due to some security flaw either at my end or Sythe's.
